This changed the game for me. Something about the jazzy 7th chords mixed with pop/Post Malone vibes creates this perfect blend that doesn't fit any specific genre - it just works everywhere.

After covering this, I knew I had made something amazing. I released it as a single because I couldn't wait - this was right after dropping "spring" and I needed to get this out before overthinking the next EP.

Then I got my first fan: my mom.

That's what inspired me to make my first real EP for someone specific. Because who cares if you make music with 0 listeners, right? So I asked my mom what songs she wanted on the album, and I created "Yayan" - named after what she was called before she came to the United States from her Chinese-Indonesian roots.

"Yayan" holds something special because it's such a rare name in today's world. Where everything is becoming robotic and AI agents are taking over, "Yayan" represents this beautiful touch of humanity from 60+ years ago - a bit of history, a bit of museum-like mystery, a bit of the unknown. I like keeping vibes like that close, and that's what my music is about.

This track proved to me that following inspiration wherever it leads creates something truly special. No boundaries, no boxes - just pure creative flow that connects with people.

Old Ways” is a late-night confession — the kind of truth that hits when the world is quiet and the smoke’s still in the air.
This song is about fighting habits you swear you’re done with… the weed, the women, the guilt, the loops you keep falling back into.
It’s me admitting I’m flawed, scared to change, addicted to the patterns I hate but still run to.

I wrote this at 2AM — the moment when the high fades and the real thoughts get loud.
