Rave City #4 (2025)

After five years in the desert, Geoglyph returns with a new solo album Otherworldly. Recorded on analogue synths, bass guitar, flute, and melodica, and with guest appearances from guitarists Jason Bond and Toby Snowden, this is a warm, proggy album with a handmade feel. Continuing on the path set by Geolinguistic and Messages from the Resonator, each track tells a story with contrasting sections. COME AND HEAR: inscrutable ceremonies in twilit caverns; ancient glyphs carved on stony mesas; impossible structures which defy space and time.

“Meru” es un viaje hacia la montaña interior, donde los antiguos cantos tibetanos se funden con la energía hipnótica del trance y la potencia de los ritmos rotos...

El track original es de PsyTrance (por Avan7 & Becker, checkeadlo), al escucharlo, con esas vocales y ese bassline me inspiré, y me surgio la idea de probar que tal quedaría bajado de BPMs y con una base de ritmo breaks, creando un remix de psybreak bailongo al más puro estilo "Saheliano". 
Con algunas florituras extra y sonidos desos que nos gustan, el resultado se ha quedado en un tema muy potente, con unas vocales que ponen los pelillos de punta, y ese puntito vasilón del SaheLmorejo. Lo comparto con ustedes, la gente disfrutona.

PD: El tema no está disponible para venta ni free download, porque no es un tema 100% mío y prefiero que sea asi! Es la primera vez que saco un bootleg y sólo está disponible en soundcloud.

“Meru” is a journey to the inner mountain, where ancient Tibetan chants merge with the hypnotic energy of trance and the power of broken rhythms...

The original track is PsyTrance (by Avan7 & Beckers, check it out!), and while listening to it, those vocals and that bassline inspired me. I had the idea to slow it down and pair it with a breaks rhythm, creating a psybreak remix full of groove in true “Sahelian” style.
With some extra flourishes and those little sounds we love, the result is a powerful track, with vocals that give you goosebumps and that special SaheLmorejo touch. I’m sharing it with you, the fun-loving crowd.

An impromptu improvised set experimenting with the AZ and seeing if it works with Serato (it does!). No beat grids, no cues, not even knowing most of the tracks... just go!  Was just having fun and wanted to keep it in the archives as a milestone on journey to full on improvisation and bringing house into my repertoire the way I would want to... (with a sprinkle of psy).

Meta Zen : a mission of healing through art.
Meta Zen is a multimedia art project comprising djing, music production, dancing, event production, visual art, photography, apparel, technological programming, poetry, and jewelry. Mauricio Zuniga was born in Costa Rica and started to DJ in 1996 while at University of Pennsylvania. He now resides in Portland, Oregon. Mauricio owned and built the psychedelic record shop, ChaosExistence.com. For 6 years, Chaos Existence was responsible for bringing some of the best electronic music to the Pacific Northwest as well as shipping it around the world. He has been an avid dj and dancer contributing to the community. He has also thrown many events bringing world class talent to the PNW. Most notably, Mauricio was responsible for bringing Tipper to the Phoenix Festival in the mid 2000’s and brought acts such as Drumspyder, Kalya Scintilla, Desert Dwellers, Bird of Prey for the first time to Portland, Oregon. Mauricio currently worked with Rose Entertainment and Mettā, throwing premiere events continuing to bring cutting edge music. He was nominated by his team as a Rose Entertainment resident DJ. Mauricio's projects draw from a well of diverse sounds. Mauricio likes to weave together unique soundscapes - using the art of storytelling. He has a unique signature from his experiences. He has shared the stage and and opened for world class talent such as Tipper, the Disco Biscuits, Hallucinogen, Younger Brother, Eat Static, Infected Mushroom, Zebblar Encanti Experience, Andreilien, Mr. Bill, Shulman, Bluetech, Hive, Dysphemic, Soulacybin, Spoken Bird, Stylust Beats, Buku, Sixis, Goopsteppa, Soohan, David Starfire, Desert Dwellers and many others.
