Techno is a form of electronic dance music (EDM)[3] that emerged in Detroit, Michigan in the United States during the mid to late 1980s. The first recorded use of the word techno in reference to a genre of music was in 1988.[4][5] Many styles of techno now exist, but Detroit techno is seen as the foundation upon which a number of subgenres have been built.[6]
The initial take on techno arose from the melding of electronic music, in the style of artists such as Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder and Yellow Magic Orchestra, with African American music styles, including funk, electro, Chicago house and electric jazz.[7] Added to this is the influence of futuristic and fictional themes[8] that are relevant to life in American late capitalist society—particularly the book The Third Wave by Alvin Toffler.[9][10] Pioneering producer Juan Atkins cites Toffler's phrase "techno rebels" as inspiring him to use the word techno to describe the musical style he helped to create. This unique blend of influences aligns techno with the aesthetic referred to as afrofuturism. To producers such as Derrick May, the transference of spirit from the body to the machine is often a central preoccupation; essentially an expression of technological spirituality.[11][12] In this manner: "techno dance music defeats what Adorno saw as the alienating effect of mechanisation on the modern consciousness".[13]
Stylistically, techno is generally repetitive instrumental music produced for use in a continuous DJ set. The central rhythmic component is most often in common time (4/4), where time is marked with a bass drum on each quarter note pulse, a backbeat played by snare or clap on the second and fourth pulses of the bar, and an open hi-hat sounding every second eighth note. The tempo tends to vary between approximately 120 beats per minute (quarter note equals 120 pulses per minute) and 150 bpm, depending on the style of techno.

Psynamik delivers a psychedelic firework of melodic adventures between 170–200+ BPM. The French-German artist pulls listeners into controlled chaos, where intensity meets emotional depth.

Since going public in 2021, he has built a steady presence in Southern Germany’s 
Psytrance scene, becoming a resident at Trikaya Festival.
In 2024, he made his international festival debut at Hadra Trance Festival and a year later, he brought his electric guitar on stage for 
the first time. During his growing experience behind the decks, he has shared the stage with prominent acts including Athzira, Gotalien, and Yatzee.
With three EPs and over 30 releases in total, he has proven to be a prolific and ambitious music producer. Psynamik also works as a production coach and mixing/mastering engineer, and is 
now working on his debut album in Grenoble.

Boaz Goldberg aka ZICO (1974) is a documentary filmmaker, musician and an interdisciplinary artist. He worked as a music journalist for more than a decade ("Zman Tel Aviv", "City Mouse", "The City", "Israel Today") and meticulously covered the alternative music scene in Israel. Goldberg later had several editing and directing jobs in many television programs. He also dabbled in painting, photography and recording music.

In the 90’s, he was the first Rock-N-Roll & Mod DJ in Israel, and played bass for the Tel Avivian Punk-Britpop band Cnaque/Pop. In 2000, he had a brief collaboration with the now legendary Charlie Megira (Gabi Abudraham). Together they formed Les Lost Boys (Naarey Ha-Hefker). They recorded Megira’s hit, “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”, and worked on the song “Pink World”, which is revisioned in ZICO's album, HEADLESS ELVIS.

Goldberg later joined 80’s Israeli Rock-journalist godfather, Kobi Or, for a noise-drone duo called NEMEK, and then formed the short-lived experimental concrete duo Nail and Flashlights (MVP). All of this led him into the world of documentary filmmaking. “Tomorrow's Gone”, a full-feature about the life and death of Charlie Megira, is his debut documentary. “HEADLESS ELVIS” is his debut album.
