"Alder" is the perfect glimpse into The Cain Pit's highly anticipated EP, "Sorrow," set to drop later this spring. 
The track immerses listeners into a world of a gritty local pub, painting vivid scenes of local characters and the crescendo of a night out in a small town. 
As what has come to be expected from The Cain Pit, the band masterfully blends sweet catchy bluegrass inspired melodies with the energetic crunch of pop-punk. A barrage of pounding drums, lightning fast banjo picking chug along with slap double bass and erratic acoustic guitar all embraced with country licks and straight up punk rock power chords!

The Cain Pit are an Alt-Country / punkgrass quintet from Norwich, Norfolk (UK).
The band combines the sweet melodies and speed of bluegrass with the crunch and energy of punk. Though founders (and cousins) of the band Daryl and Scott Blyth have played music together since they were children, the idea of The Cain Pit only came to fruition in 2024 after interest from home demos recorded during the end of the world.
You can expect lightning fast banjo pickin’, slap double bass, and double time drums bathe alongside the caress of distortion and percussive acoustic guitar thacking.

I am a songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist living in Philly.  My influences are everything from pickers like Mississippi John Hurt and John Prine to party-starters like Daft Punk and Beyoncé.
