DAEDALUS ｜ Cinematic Music [EPIC]

Dance through cosmic haze, ethereal grooves blend with beats, a surreal journey unfolds in the allure of quantum dust's celestial symphony.

Quantum Dust

As part of Berlin Science Week 2023 at Holtzmarkt, sound artists and scientists got together and produced the event 'QUANTUM INSPIRED SOUND: SONIC EXPLORATIONS OF THE QUANTUM WORLD'. Over the course of a few months, Jeannette Petrik as a sound artist developed a performace together with quantum scientists Mathieu Fechant and Nicolas Gosling, supported by Ioan Pop and Steve Williams, with institutional support by KIT Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. While Petrik played an instrument they had developed together with fellow sound practitioner Jan Krühler, a suspended plate which was brought to vibration and resonance with help of vibration motors, Fechant and Gosling recited information about quantum mechanics and quantum research. Together, the performance aimed to scale up miniature lab and research processes with the help of which the quantum world is studied.

A raw collage of analogue and digital electronic sounds, harsh, intense, sensitive modulated noise, embracing the unexpected with a situationist attitude, amplifying and celebrating so-called 'errors', or, 'unforseen circumstances', drifting off in the moment.

Chebedajha is the experimental sound project of cultural producer Jeannette Petrik. Operating in the vicinity of intense states of anxiety and pleasure, discomfort and relief, the experimental sound of Chebedajha aims for increased levels of perception and sensitivity to become part of the collective everyday. The project thus becomes an abstract tool for everyday politics and a catalyst for collective, dialogical care.
