Dawn in the Glimmer-Spore Forest is never heralded by sun or bird. Instead, the hourless twilight quivers as if someone plucked the very fabric of space, and every pale mushroom cap shivers in sympathy. Hylra — a cartographer of forbidden sound-currents — knelt among the giant stems, tracing hummingbands that pulsed beneath the soil like veins beneath translucent skin.

The first tremor arrived as a gentle thump, felt more in bone than ear. Mycelial threads glowed amber, sketching shifting glyphs that sank and resurfaced, inviting decipherment. Hylra’s breath misted violet; each exhale hatched motes of bioluminescence that clung to her cloak in constellations.

A voice without language spoke in her chest: Step inward. As the ground swelled, a bridge of root-glass unfurled, rising from the loam in spirals. Two spectral serpents of star-smoke twined along its railings, weaving Mobius loops that warped perspective. With a thrill equal parts dread and wonder, Hylra crossed the Spore-Bridge into sky that was neither above nor below.

Page 2 – Corridors of Nebular Pollen
Upwards became sideways; sideways blurred to everywhere. The bridge dissolved mid-stride, yet Hylra did not fall. She floated down an endless corridor scaffolded from suspended droplets of liquid prism. Each droplet mirrored impossible vistas: a desert of singing mirrors; a moonlit bay where waves rolled backward; a marketplace where thoughts were traded in glass jars.

Choosing one vision threatened to strand her there. She steadied her mind by humming the root-pulse she had mapped all her life — a rhythm she now realised was the heartbeat of the forest itself. The droplets answered, shifting hue in sympathetic resonance. A vast portal irised open ahead, rimmed by petal-thin crescents of pure ultraviolet.

Beyond lay a cathedral shaped from interlocked mushroom caps the size of zeppelins. Spores drifted like snow, each flake beating a sub-audible note. Hylra touched the threshold; the spores ignited into a swirling choir. Their harmonies weren’t sung but grown, blooming into chords that skipped her ears and seeded directly in memory. The cathedral accepted her footsteps with echoing kindness.

Armed with a crate of vinyl, Grass Patch Bum dived headfirst into underground raves and sweaty house parties, learning the art of blending beats on turntables and (eventually) the "futuristic" CDJs. But the journey didn't stop there.

After taking a hiatus to dive into the world of FL Studio and dissect the mechanics of production, Grass Patch Bum came back stronger, with a repertoire of original sounds and the technical chops to match. Fast forward, and they've turned dancefloors upside down from Thailand to Vietnam, Bali to the heart of Europe. Now, powered by Ableton Live and a creative arsenal that refuses to stay in one genre, Grass Patch Bum weaves sonic journeys that blend groove, grit, and just a sprinkle of nostalgia for the good ol' days.
