Ghazal – 43 of Qudsi – Rāg Zila, Tāl Dādrā

In exchange for cure, 
I will not sell the pleasure of my sorrow over you.
For faith, I will not sell the infidelity of your wink.

Contemplating the rose of your face, my heart is pierced.
For a hundred gardens of paradise, I will not sell that thorn.

Not for life a hundredfold would I unhand the train of your robe.
It came with great difficulty, and I will not sell it easily.

For the desire of both worlds, I would not exchange my grief.
This precious commodity I will not sell to anyone cheaply.

It’s just me and the guilt of love, Qudsi,
but like the renunciate, my innocence
I will not sell ever to anyone.

Ghazal – 43 von Qudsi – Rāg Zila, Tāl Dādrā

Im Tausch für Heilung werde ich das Vergnügen 
meines Kummers über dich nicht verkaufen.
Für Glauben werde ich die Untreue deines Zuzwinkerns nicht verkaufen.

Wenn ich die Rose deines Gesichts betrachte, wird mein Herz durchbohrt.
Für hundert Gärten des Paradieses werde ich diesen Dorn nicht verkaufen.

Nicht für ein hundertfaches Leben 
würde ich den Saum deines Gewandes loslassen.
Es war mit großen Schwierigkeiten verbunden, 
und ich werde es nicht einfach verkaufen.

Für Erfüllung in beiden Welten würde ich meinen Kummer nicht eintauschen.
Dieses kostbare Gut werde ich nicht billig an irgendwen verkaufen.

Es gibt nur mich und die Liebesschuld, Qudsi;
doch wie der Entsagende, meine Unschuld
werde ich niemals an irgend jemanden verkaufen.

A cambio de cura,
no venderé el placer de mi pena por ti.
A cambio de fe, no venderé la infidelidad de tu guiño.

Contemplando la rosa de tu rostro, se me atraviesa el corazón.
Por cien jardines del paraíso, no venderé esa espina.

Ni por cien vidas desprenderé la cola de tu manto.
Llegó con gran dificultad, y no la venderé fácilmente.

Por el deseo de ambos mundos, no cambiaría mi pena.
Este precioso bien no se lo venderé barato a nadie.

Soy sólo yo y la culpa del amor, Qudsi;
pero como el renunciante, mi inocencia
no venderé nunca a nadie.

Ghazal of Qudsi – 60 – Rāg Kāfī, Tāl Pashto

A single candle is not enough to scorch my wound;
to light my lamp, no less than a hundred fire-temples will do.

I am a passionate wanderer, a lamp of desire for the rose.
Why do you seek signs of me among the moths and nightingales?

From my eyes how much of my heart’s blood 
poured forth, like the saqi’s wine.
In spite of my blood-filled eyes, come and fill my cup.

My mind has become disturbed, O early morning breeze, arise.
Perfume my mind with the hyacinth fragrance of her hair.

How does my heart have the strength
to bear the deception of its grief, Qudsi?

Separation from the company of the moth 
is what burns my lamp.

Eine einzige Kerze reicht nicht aus, um meine Wunde zu versengen;
um meine Lampe zu entzünden, 
genügen nicht weniger als hundert Feuertempel.

Ich bin ein leidenschaftlicher Wanderer, 
eine Lampe der Sehnsucht nach der Rose.
Warum suchst du nach Zeichen von mir 
unter den Motten und Nachtigallen?

Wie viel Blut meines Herzens ist aus meinen Augen geflossen,
wie der Wein des Saqi.
Trotz meiner bluterfüllten Augen, komm und fülle meinen Becher.

Mein Gemüt ist unruhig geworden, oh frühe Morgenbrise, erhebe dich.
Parfümiere mein Gemüt mit dem Hyazinthenduft ihres Haares.

Woher hat mein Herz die Kraft,
um die Enttäuschung seines Kummers zu ertragen, Qudsi?

Die Trennung von der Gesellschaft der Motte

Una sola vela no basta para abrasar mi herida;
para encender mi lámpara, no menos de cien templos de fuego bastarán.

Soy un vagabundo apasionado, una lámpara de deseo para la rosa.
¿Por qué me buscas entre polillas y ruiseñores?

De mis ojos cuanta sangre de mi corazón ha derramado,
como el vino del saqi.
A pesar de mis ojos llenos de sangre, ven y llena mi copa.

Mi mente se ha perturbado, oh brisa de la mañana, levántate.
Perfuma mi mente con la fragancia de jacinto de su cabello.

¿Cómo tiene mi corazón la fuerza
para soportar la decepción de su dolor, Qudsi?

La separación de la compañía de la polilla
