we spent the weekend taking all kinds of field recordings in Round Top, Texas. I loaded one of the field recordings from the storm on night 1 into my tape music machine, and using looping techniques and effects created this 1.3 hour long sound meditation which will likely be chopped up n edited into smaller pieces. The thunder became a slow dramatic drum loop, and the rain and cricket noises morphed, panned, and stretched into interesting drones ontop <3

I was improvising to create rhythms I was going to use for pieces I plan to spend more time with, but I enjoyed the jam session so much I decided to go ahead and throw part of it up, as is, on SoundCloud before I changed anything, removed parts, or began the work of adding all the additional layers and instruments.
