A masterful second edition to our mixtape series is the wonderful Alena Arpels. Based in London, Alena is a well established disco, soul and all things groove, vinyl only DJ who certainly knows how to get people on their feet and boogying. We had the pleasure of bringing Alena up to Liverpool for our Halloween party last year and she was nothing short of world class.

Antonio Lubrano, a seasoned radio sound engineer who embarked on his musical journey at the young age of 15 and became a resident DJ at prominent city clubs by the age of 18, has consistently harbored a passion for diverse non-commercial music. His DJ sets reflect a deliberate effort to introduce lesser-known sounds, injecting an element of unpredictability. Renowned as a "vinyl enthusiast" within the industry, Antonio has, in recent years, delved into the world of collecting rare records, sourcing gems from the Italian and European underground scenes spanning the 70s, 80s, and even the 90s—acquiring them through both online platforms and eclectic flea markets.

In 2022 Antonio, alongside collaborator Daniele Giustra, proudly co-founded "Disco Tic." This innovative project showcases the art of back-to-back performances exclusively on vinyl, with a focus on 45s featuring the distinctive Italo-disco sound. The duo has given life to a vibrant SoundCloud channel under the same name, featuring meticulously curated mixtapes crafted by DJs and selectors from across the globe. This platform serves as a testament to their commitment to promoting and preserving the rich legacy of underground music.

Kazerne Records is an Amsterdam based DJ Duo with a unique expression of their house and disco oriented taste. They tend to find the intersection between euphoric gems and groovy jams, whilst prospering strategic selections. A subtile overflow from italo house to more progressive tunes - while blending it with hints of tribal and garage - is a good example of what one could expect. To inspire themselves, they adore falling back to a wide variety of styles, such as kwaito, UK street soul, MPB, or italo disco. 
 
For this mix we compiled a nice selection of some early disco, deeper grooves and soulful house. Enjoy ;)

UHF es un dúo español de electro, fundado José Castillo y David Aragón, dos djs de la vieja escuela muy respetados en la escena electrónica de Madrid, e indudablemente influenciados por el New Beat, EBM, Synth-Pop y el sonido Detroit. 

Su faceta como productores comienza en 2014, lanzando su primer single llamado “Breakers Life”, incluido en el recopilatorio Madrid City Breakers. Un homenaje al grupo de bailarines madrileños de breakdance de finales de los 80s, plasmado en un doble ep de culto, con cortes de Boris Divider, E.R.P y Luke Eargoggle entre otros grandes artistas y editado en Gladio Operations, que, a posteriori, se convertirían también en socios del sello. 

UHF ha editado también en sellos nacionales muy reconocidos como HC Records, Noise To Meet You, Distrito 91, Electroclub Recordings, Música Dispersa y en el sello inglés Borg Recordings.
