Emerging from the crypt of static and storm, DRØVN forges sound into ritual.
Push/Pull is a descent into heavy bass, fractured rhythms, and occult atmosphere—where ravens circle and glitch becomes incantation. This is music for cathedrals in ruin, for shadowed streets lit by neon voids.

Push/Pull

This is the traditional story from Tsimshian mythology. Recorded raven calls, which are amazingly varied, have been added into the music. Some inspiration is from Native American styles and Jethro Tull. The dynamic flute sound is a ney performed by Ido Romano of Israel. The intro, which also occurs before the final chorus, has a climbing bass to fit the idea of lifting into the sky. The verse has gone through style changes. First, it was a bluesy rock rhythm guitar, then acoustic fingerpicking. After creating a cooler bass part, inspiration came for a cleaner electric guitar part that didn’t follow the same pattern as the bass but complimented it. I think the key changes and style changes help to make it more musically interesting. Lead vocals are by Christina Rotondo of the UK who has also performed lead vocals on a song in a Doctor Who episode. Greg Van Kerkhof of South Africa provides background vocals and performs on bass.

Raven Stole the Sun

A haunting homage to Edgar Allan Poe, this song drifts like a midnight whisper, where shadows breathe, memories ache, and the echo of a raven carries love and loss beyond the mortal world.

The "lyrics" are some verses from Edgar Allan Poe's poem "The Raven", published back in 1845. The verse were slighly adapted to fit the beat. This is just a way for me (and hopefully for you) to experience Poe's legendary poems in a different way.

Once, upon a midnight dreary,
While I pondered, weak and weary; 
Over many a strange and curious volume
Of forgotten lore…
While I nodded, nearly napping,
Came a sudden, quiet tapping,
As of someone gently rapping,
Rapping at my chamber door...
“It’s a visitor,” I whispered,
“Only this… and nothing more.”

Darkness there.
And nothing more.

Deep into that darkness peering,
Long I stood there, wondering, fearing, 
Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal
Ever dared to dream before.
But the silence was unbroken,
And the stillness gave no token…
Till the only word there spoken
Was the whispered word: “Lenore?”
This I breathed... and back the echo
Murmured soft the name: “Lenore.”
Nothing else, and nothing more.

Back into the chamber turning,
All my soul within me burning,
Soon again I heard that tapping; 
Louder than it was before.
“Surely,” said I, “this is something
At the lattice by the floor...
Let me see what stirs behind it,
Let this mystery be explored…
It is just the wind, I’m sure.
"Only wind, and nothing more!”

But the Raven, still and lonely
On the bust, spoke just one word.
As if all its soul had poured.
Not a feather did it flutter,
Not a sound besides that score:
“Other friends have gone before me,
He will leave, as those before.”
Then the bird said: “Nevermore.”

What this grim and ancient figure
Meant in croaking “Nevermore,”
Still I questioned...  evermore.

“Leave no black plume as a token
Of the lie thy soul hath spoken!
Leave my heart, and leave this door!”
Quoth the Raven: “Nevermore.”

And my soul, from out that shadow
That lies floating on the floor,
Shall be lifted,
Nevermore.

For evermore.

DRØVN is the sound of collapse carved into ritual. Whispered mantras dissolve into distortion; cathedrals fall in static and shadow. 

Emerging from the ashes of SYNITH and SYNSTATIC, this new mask summons witch-house, darkwave, and lo-fi industrial into suffocating hymns of fire, fracture, and void.

Each track is both personal confession and occult ceremony—psychosis, memory, addiction, and decay reimagined as incantations.
