Unfortunatly I only have the 128kbps version of this lovely mix.  The original was on a friends DAT cassette tape deck that I borrowed.  Since the DAT deck was not mine AND DAT blank tapes were very expensive in 2002 (30.00 per tape) I didn't buy many and recorded over the same tape several times.  This was a mix that was recorded over unfortunatly.  The only way to get high quality audio of this mix is to do it all over again which I really don't want to do but may someday.

So this mix was very popular on the Bad Company message board "DOA".  For good reasons but mostly bad.  The mix itself is pretty tight and shows off the 1993-revival tunes that were big at the time.  It also has an unreleased Stratus track that I got from a nice person.  This caused lots of hate mail PMs on DOA from Stratus, the label owner, and Damian "Diesel Boy" Higgans.  Apparently only Diesel Boy is allowed to play this tune.... Well tut tut.  At some point I'll use this still unreleased tune again to start a set, its a good tune and if it still winds people up, even better.

Godfather’ - ‘Legend’ - ‘International Hero’. All accolades attributed by loving fans Worldwide to the DJ, Producer and scene pioneer known as ‘Slipmatt’. Anyway, on to the former Hard Trance & Old Skool DJ, Chuck-E, who has now ‘retired’ from the dance music scene.

A career of 19 years included a special guest feature on BBC Radio 1, and having his ‘Science Fiction’ album release party at the mighty 55,000 strong ‘Defqon1’ festival, run by Q-dance in the Netherlands, in which the track ‘What is reality’ featured on their DVD. 

Headline shows in countries including South Korea, Australia, and Norway, as well as holding a residency at Breathe, GBH, Sugar,  Trancefusion, The Square, and Panic Room. He was one of the most frequently booked DJ’s at the mighty Bionic events and played guest slots for virtually every major & respected Hard Dance event in England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland,  such as Frantic, Goodgreef, Storm, Ministry of Sound, Tranzaction, Westfest, Escape into the Park, Back To The Future, Concept, Ripsnorter, North, Atmosphere, Sanctuary Festival and many more.

The 2005-2012 partnership with JTB would see them set up the ‘Intolerance Recordings’ imprint to showcase most of their studio creations, alongside being signed to the huge ‘Future Sound Corporation’ label, in Italy. 

A former winner of the national PYP DJ competition, never one to follow a trend and always original in sound….. Right, look. I am quickly writing this myself, talking in the third person. It’s going to get to a stage where I’ll be licking my own ass. I'm gonna stop. Getting bored now, can’t remember much more anyway. I was always intoxicated.  I used to write for CORE mag and do Hard Trance reviews or something? Hmmm what’s for dinner?

Muzik Hertz was formed at the end of 2006 by dj Escape after being flooded with demos from around the world. Out of the all demos only one stood out. That being dj Complex who hails from Essex. Soon to follow was Dj Rusty who hails from Brazil, Cabbie, Pleasure, Pa and Origin

First release is Decisions / zero by Dj Complex which received major play from Nicky Black-market, Hazard, Kenny Ken, Cabbie to name a few. Up next came Bounty Hunter / Mustang Fast Back from Dj Pleasure / Dj Rusty. Releases soon followed from Nw2 (Cabbie & Origin), PA, Steppa & Kitcha, Tyke, Recluse as well as label boss Escape.

As well a being a record label, Muzik Hertz has also saw a number of events over the years and has become one of the fastest growing drum & bass brands in Birmingham. With events held at Oc's, The Q Club and Custard Factory in Birmingham plus a range of tours across the Uk and Abroad, Muzik Hertz has definitely gone from from strengh to strenght and is continuing to grow.  

Muzik Hertz has gained a lot of support from a number of A list artist and received a huge amount of radio support in the Uk and abroad. New artists in the shape of Boosta & Atmos T, 2stars & Shield, 2N etc have joined the label and have been responsible for some of the biggest releases to date! Record collector / bedroom DJ from New Jersey, USA.  I'm a Devoted Junglist but not a Vorta clone who bows to the founders.  I've been listening to 'Ardkore jungle since 1993 but didn't start collecting till 1994.

I bought the "pro" subscription for a year just to get my older mixes out there as so many "fans" have complained they don't like downloading my stuff on house-mixes.

Born and bred Londoner Tom Frankel is emerging as one of the nu breed of extra talented dance producers breaking out onto the scene. 

Over the last few years he has honed his trade by playing at legendary clubs such as The Egg, where he is a regular feature, plus many gigs at huge London clubs such as Studio 338, The Cause, Lightbox, Fabric in the UK. While also doing many seasons in Ibiza playing at Sankeys, Privilege, Viva, Zoo project, Hypercolour, and underground haven Plan Be.


Tom has played alongside industry greats such as Bushwacka!, Steve Lawler, Subb-An, Dubfire, Nina Kraviz, Julian Perez, Darius Syrossian, Bicep and Move D, but it is now that Tom himself is starting to take the limelight. 

His productions are fresh, forward thinking, and always with the dance floor in mind, creating his own unique fusion of House music where he has releases and remixes on labels such as Burnski's label Constant Sound and iO (Mulen) imprint OLDiViBES and more recently with his and Dayne Harper own imprint Council Work receiving a lot of attention, with support from Ben UFO, Call Super and Loco Dice amongst others, plus no1 chart positions on Beatport and Deejay.de for the first two releases. 

Tom has earned the admiration of his peers and rightly so, he’s a chap with a lively, transfixing personality and his sets are spirited and distinct, marrying a rich medley of current house, garage and minimal music with sounds from a bygone era. His rapid climb to success is attributable to his hard work and endearing character, which combined with his expert musical knowledge make him a serious one to watch in the future.

And if you're really interested, full biog continues: As DJ L@rGeY (orig. DJ Bugsy), I started out in 1993 with belt drives bought by the paper round wages! It was a hell of a time for dance music - this new sound - and the event tapes (copied 10x over by the time we got them) were flying around school. A Dance Nation set from Ratpack and a DJ Dougal one at Dreamscape changed my life! Technics quickly decks followed the shitty belt drives and a friendship with Yorks/Lincs DJ Matt Stephenson - owner of Scunthorpe's only dance record shop Plus 8, later named The Source - led to early slots at regional nights. Then DJ Bugsy, I went on to be resident at Matt's North Lincolnshire club night, Sourcey.

I played the back room (playing house and hard house)at the legendary Humberside Dizstruxshon raves and also played at Uprising @The Porterhouse, Retford. 

The illegal rave and free party stuff came thanks to an invite from a travelling sound system that set up commune in North Lincs and the guys used to come into the record shop to buy their gabber records with piles of 2p coins earned begging/busking!  North Lincs was a decent spot for quarry and warehouse raves and it was limey, muddy, edgy, exciting and never to be forgotten - yes original crew! 

I moved to Scotland for uni. and the DJ Bugsy moniker was dropped in favour of DJ Lyndon Saunders for house nights and, having started as a pure joke amongst my mates, "DJ Lyndon Large" or DJ L@rGeY for the rave stuff just stuck! I was resident in both the union and clubs in Stirling, Glasgow and Edinburgh; getting to play alongside techno legends Slam (Stuart and Orde) and other big names of the Scottish and international scene at the time.

Still DJ L@rGeY, I'm now a Manchester-based DJ, dad and full-time university academic, having been a BBC/ITV TV and radio producer for 18+ years for the day job. 

I've got an extensive vinyl collection and now do digital with Serato too, which means I play renowned epically eclectic and diverse sets that traverse through: dub step, house, hard house, wobbly house, dnb, garage, speed garage, techno, breaks, breakbeat hardcore (rave), happy hardcore, trance, progressive. I bloody love the creativity of Ableton edits, rerubs, tempo-changers, refixes, mashups and bootlegs that now set the proper DJ apart from the Spotify playlist ones! 

Finally, I remain 'classically trained' on decks so I'm pretty purist about beat-matching manually (NEVER touch that sync button, kids!) and though digital is awesome, I still mix with Serato vinyl control records rather than USB sticks in CDJs or digital controllers.

My home setup remains those same, well-cared for, regularly serviced 1996 Technics 1210s, a Pioneer RMX500 (for versatile fx on vinyl) and my new baby, a lovely Rane 72 mixer for crystal digital and analogue sound. I record sets through Ableton, and livestream using OBS.
