A keen track selectah, Redford is best known for his rhythmic DJ sets, packed with energy throughout, lacing his mixes with a divine blend of funky and vocal house and driven beats. Recording mixtapes in his bedroom as a teenager, his mixing skills were soon picked up by Dutch national radio, where Redford started to mix the weekly Friday-night show at a young age.

Having honed his craft on vinyl, Redford soon made the switch to the electronic side with not one – but two – residencies in Dutch clubs, amassing the reputation as a crowd-reader. Providing his audiences with high-tempo transitions and live edits thanks to his music production knowledge and vast array of selections, Redford soon landed a spot at national radio station SLAM! FM.

Inspired by deeply rooted old school US & UK house, entwined with the more current sounds of admired producers like Calvin Harris and MK, Redford kickstarted his own production catalogue, working tirelessly in the studio ahead of his previous releases on American imprint Nervous, and German label Lickin’ Records.

“We struggled a bit in the studio initially, but eventually produced a piano based house track with an accapella licensed from Defected Records. Lickin’ loved the track and wanted to release it straight away. That first release ever still symbolises that passion and hard work will get you places!”  Redford adds.

Spreading his old skool house tinged rumbler “In My House” amongst fellow DJ’s instantly sprung support from none other than Claptone, Todd Terry, Carl Cox, Roger Sanchez, UK house legends K-Klass and Elrow resident De La Swing, a respectful nod to the vibrant movement led across 90’s dance-floors. The future shines even brighter for Redford, with his debut single “Fairytale Love” ft. Christian Jules out in winter 2018, alongside a killer dub remix for Strictly Rhythm on the garage smash Roger Sanchez, Park & Sons ft. Julie McKnight – This Feeling. Undoubtedly Redford is one of the most exciting new talents in house music right now!

B.Major has been involved in Hip Hop and the Recording Industry since the early 2000's. His work ethic and passions for Music really shows, putting his soul into every mixtape and live performance. During his early years when everybody was listening to Nirvana and Pearl Jam, B.Major was already deep into hip hop. Not caring what anybody else thought he would sit and listen to his Wu-Tang Collection over and over. Not knowing that Hip Hop Music would play such a large roll in his life, however he knew there was something very special about these well crafted beats and rhythmic vocals. 

Hard work in and out of the studio and the understanding of stage performance has given B.Major the chance to work with and share stages with many of hip hop's top artists including: Tech N9ne, Krizz Kaliko, Rahzel the Human Beat Box, Camp Lo, Madchild of Swollen Members, Slaine and had honour to Dj for Inspectah Deck of Wu-Tang Clan during his stop in Calgary. 

B.Major spends most of his time working on solo projects, but that doesn't mean he is always working alone. As of resent he has done some studio work for the young and talented Calgary Rapper A.Y.E. you can find B.Major on a hand full of his tracks featured on the Scratch Hooks including his new single Keep It Real. B.Major has also performed in A.Y.E.'s very special live 7 piece band (dj). B.Major's work in Original Beat Production has been getting attention from many pro and upcoming Artists, He feels Blessed to get to Produce an Official Remix for Tam & Choclair - Brand New. With his love for music growing and a lot of music coming out, it's most likely that this will NOT be the last time you hear of B.Major.

How do you even begin to describe the anomaly that makes up the man we've all come to know and love? He's taken the east coast by storm over the last two decades, and has no intention of letting up. From promoting for Ultraworld and Club Sonar in Baltimore, to promoting Buzzlife at The Capitol Ballroom in DC in the 90's, to President of the independent record label Faction Digital Recordings, Contraversy is no stranger to hard work and knows what it takes to get the job done.

It was the friendships that had blossomed during that time that led Contraversy to creating the crew that would be known as VAs Finest in August of 2005. Over a decade later, VAs Finest is thriving more than ever. Everything from basic support and promotion, having their own VAs Finest stage at shows, and putting on there very own shows and festivals, providing everything from sound and lighting, to their very own design team, creating a feel and vibe that could be rivaled with most. VAs Finest has gained quite the reputation of being a powerhouse, while maintaining their integrity as a group of underground artists, and spreading the love.

With his DJ career taking off in 2006, pulling from his early influences of hip-hop and metal, his style of mixing and blending track after track seamlessly, definitely had not gone by unnoticed. In only a 2 year time span, Contraversy 
had gained the recognition from multiple promoters and the like, playing a substantial amount of shows all up and down the east coast gaining a loyal following along the way. In the year 2010, he was the most booked Drum and Bass DJ in the tri-state area.

With guest mixes being featured on podcasts such as Best Drum and Bass with Abducted LTD, NCDNB Radio Sunday Sessions, Expansion Broadcast, and Dirtbox Radio, you can find a Contraversy mixes from coast to coast. It's his original productions like "Chaos" and "Sci-Fi" that truly set him apart from others. Both tracks soaring up the charts, it was "Sci-Fi" that made it into the top 10, then firming planting itself within the top 50 for over an astonishing 5 months.
 
His role as President of Faction Digital Recordings is only another way for him to express his emotions and undying love for the music. Being able to work with like minded artists and be able to shape and form the future to his and his artists liking, yet keeping the underground vibe and spreading that mind set in all business aspects of his music career has enabled him to stay true to his roots. Keeping the mainstream companies from coming in, hes able to allow his artists to have the creative freedom that all passionate artists deserve.

With his involvement in the scene, and his career as a DJ, Contraversy has more then proven that he's a worthy contestant. He is ever growing and ever evolving to bigger and better on a daily basis. There is a strong "ContrAversiaL" concept brewing, second by second, minute by minute, beat by beat, that this man is changing not only the way we listen to music, but the way that we view it as a whole.
