I wanted to try something different with the sounds on this project. I became really obsessed with the idea of making a “Summer Album” without making it sound like Beach Boys songs.

The goal was to make an album that sounded breezy and mildly nostalgic that works as well coming from a car stereo as it would a boombox by the pool or a Sony Walkman; the kind of album that works for a late afternoon cruise with the windows down just as well as it does in headphones pedaling on a beach cruiser in 1985. I think we hit the target.

I worked with Buckets Amaretto who engineered, mixed and mastered this project for me and brought my vision to life better than I could have imagined. I am extremely grateful for the hard work he put into this to achieve my vision.

With that said, hope you enjoy this album as much as we enjoyed making it. It’ll be out on CD and Cassette soon too, if you really want to play it in its intended format.
