This instrumental opens with a filtered guitar riff paired with a tight hi-hat loop, immediately setting a reflective, groove-driven mood. As the verse kicks in, you get the full drum pattern—deep 808 kicks side-chained to a warm sine sub—layered under the guitar riff and Rhodes chords for a rich, midrange texture. Heading into the build, gentle pad swells and punctuated horn stabs raise the tension, then the chorus drops in with chopped vocal snippets and extra 808 stabs for added punch. The bridge strips everything back to just guitar, pads, and a minimal drum loop, creating a moment of vulnerability before the final hook brings back every element, this time with layered percussion fills that propel the track to its climax.

On the mix side, the guitar loop is given grit via tape saturation, while the drum bus is glued together with compression. Snares sit in a spacious pocket thanks to plate reverb, the guitar is spread slightly left and right (±15°) for width, and parallel compression on the drums and bass adds weight without sacrificing dynamics—resulting in a wide, emotive canvas perfect for a laid-back, soulful flow.

Like many, my journey started with big dreams as a child. I imagined myself as a musical genius, learning to play the recorder and later moving on to the violin and guitar. Back then, I had no idea how challenging the music industry could be. As life moved on, new adventures like jobs, holidays, and eventually starting a family took over, and my musical dream slowly faded into the background.

But the story didn’t end there. Over the past 40 years, technology has evolved in incredible ways, creating opportunities that were once unimaginable. Social media has reconnected us with old friends and memories, while AI and music software have revolutionised how we create and share music. The music industry, once an exclusive club, has had to adapt, leaving space for new voices to emerge.

This is where Logical Miracle was born, a collaboration between my love for music and the technical genius of my partner. For years, I wrote poems, not realising they were songs in waiting. Today, with the help of AI, music production software, and my tech-savvy partner, we’ve brought those words to life. The dream of working in a big studio isn’t necessary anymore; with the right tools and expertise, we’re able to create professional-quality music right from home.

Logical Miracle is the result of this collaboration. It’s not just a musical project, it’s a testament to the power of dreams and the possibilities that technology brings. Joshua Duerksen, renowned by his DJ name DJ JD, was raised in the Mid-West and California, where his musical tastes were shaped by a diverse range of genres, spanning from Classic Rock and Country to Hip Hop and 90's Dance. He firmly believes that "Good music knows no genre."

Following his graduation from high school, JD enlisted in the United States Navy, dedicating a decade of service to his country. While stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, he had the privilege of meeting several influential DJs who became his mentors, imparting invaluable knowledge about the various aspects of DJing.

In between deployments, JD diligently honed his mixing and performance skills, gaining experience as a Club DJ, Mobile DJ, and Dive Bar DJ. After completing his naval service, he relocated to Idaho and founded a mobile disc jockey entertainment company, specializing in providing exceptional DJ services for weddings, birthday parties, and school dances.

In 2009, JD embarked on a new venture, joining XMiX DJ Music Pool as a video editor. In this role, he skillfully re-edited music videos to match the remixes produced by the talented editors and producers at XMiX, catering to the needs of Video DJs and facilitating seamless music video mixing. During his tenure, JD significantly enhanced his audio editing prowess and mastered the art of creating audio edits and remixes. These creations have been featured in nationally syndicated country mix shows and embraced worldwide, wherever country music finds appreciation.
