REI AMI - DICTATOR (farley. remix)

this was the fifth track produced for this ep! oh man, this one gave me the biggest headache.

i knew from the start that i wanted it to be hardstyle and super aggressive, and i thought it would be fun to put "my kink is karma" by chappell roan over it. but for some reason, no matter what i did, i couldn’t get her vocals to match the bpm. i spent days trying, and nothing worked, i still don’t know why. i was so sad because her song would have fit the vibe and message of this ep perfectly, but i had to pivot.

so, i started researching and went back to another artist i love, rei ami. her song "body bag" caught my attention, it has a more general message, but at its core, it’s about not letting people walk all over you. it checked all the boxes, so she was recruited for the ep! i also just love this song so much. the heavy bass elements are right up my alley.

the production process for this track was surprisingly quick, only taking a few days to lock everything in. honestly, it’s one of my favorites. maybe i’m just a bass head, but if a track has aggressive kicks and subs, i’m instantly obsessed.
