“I don’t know why you lie” comes from a very real situation we witnessed when a close friend of ours was being cheated on repeatedly. Every time the truth surfaced, he’d deny it, twist the story, and somehow things would go back to the way they were. The trust was fragile, the hurt was buried, and I felt the relationship was held together not by love but by fear of being alone. 
	
Watching that cycle unfold, the hope, the heartbreak, the pretending, it made me wonder what it feels like to love someone who keeps lying to your face. So we wrote the song from her perspective: the late-night questions, the desperate calls, the endless searching for a reason that could make the pain make sense. The chorus reflects that breaking point, “I don’t know why you lie,” the moment when you can’t ignore the truth anymore.
