Great Stuff is kicking off the summer season with a classic and very special release. The label is extremely happy and proud to present you with five brand new mixes of Ron Carroll’s year 2000 smash hit “Lucky Star”! 

Holland’s tech house maestro Rene Amesz has been releasing floor fillers on labels like Toolroom, Suara and Spinnin Deep for years. He starts things off here with a supersonic, bass-heavy take on “Lucky Star” that is naughty and filled with ever more energy.

Great Stuff all-star Mike Vale is an important part of the global dance music circuit for years and always delivers the goods in perfect style, and he does so once again here with his heartfelt take on “Lucky Star” that merges flammable beats with tense low frequencies and cosmic sounds.

Originally from Haarlem in the Netherlands, globetrotting from London to Dubai to Barcelona and now living in Ibiza since 2012, Martijn ten Velden has long established himself as a leading DJ/producer on an international level. His version of “Lucky Star” is wonderfully reminding us of the original’s bliss and melodies. It feels colourful, organic yet extremely fresh. 

Newcomers Chip x Dale are closing out this beautiful collection of remixes and come correct on their booming version of “Lucky Star” with its tight drums, pitched vocals and enormous bassline. Playful and fun all the way!

Hoy hablamos de René Pérez Joglar más conocido como Residente, compositor y productor de música urbana puertorriqueño, cantante que en sus letras destaca el contenido social y político combinando su música con la música del mundo y el rap alternativo, miembro fundador y vocalista de Calle 13 (2004-2014), y desde 2015 está como solista. Ha ganado líder de Calle 13 un total de 27 Grammys y en su carrera en solitario ha logrado conseguir hasta 5 Grammys.

El día 27 de febrero de 2020 lanzó su nuevo tema donde se muestra a Residente tal cual es: con sus virtudes, defectos, miedos, alegrías, tristezas, añoranzas y triunfos. "Esta canción me ayudó a salir de un lugar en donde no quería estar. Necesitaba volver a mi pueblo, a mi casa, a encontrarme con mis amigos, necesitaba volver a ser yo", expresó el artista. History before Kizomba:
Born in The Netherlands in ’87 and started DJ’ing House/Techno in 2005 and this did not happen unnoticed. The crowd embraced René for his energetic and well balanced DJ sets. He played at the bigger festivals and clubs in The Netherlands like Extrema Outdoor & Solar Weekend, next to international and national DJ’s. After 10 years playing house & techno René decided to stop DJ’ ing in 2015.

Kizomba:
Not long after that René started taking Kizomba dance classes with his partner. After a few lessons he was sold to the dance and knew this was a new path of life. Since then he decided to start DJ’ing again but then in the Kizomba scene and RENE AMPLO was born. Because of years experience behind the DJ booth René translates his music to the dancefloor. Switching between slow and uptempo songs while keeping the connection between the dance partners.

At the same festival or party, the music is never the same.
