Synopsis:
Volume IV walks through Psalms 46–60 as songs for a shaken world and a God who doesn’t move. It opens with the earthquake refuge of “River in the Ruins” and the triumphant coronation energy of “King Above All Crowns,” then moves into city-on-a-hill imagery, warnings about wealth and judgment, and the raw repentance of “Clean Heart Prayer.” From there the album presses into corrupt power, betrayal by friends, burdens laid onto God, tears kept in His bottle, caves and wings, broken fangs for violent rulers, and “Dogs at the Gate” circling a sleeping city. It closes with “Banner in the Dust,” a battle-weary anthem that raises hope in the middle of national loss. Each track paraphrases a psalm into a modern, singable form, stretching across blues-rock, punk, indie-folk, soul, cinematic rock and worship-adjacent moods, all under The Shaken Remnant’s gritty, spiritual lens.
