This is a "quiet-loud" dynamic Alternative Country-Rock Ballad. The song structure builds from sparse, narrative-driven verses (reminiscent of Folk or Americana) into an explosive, anthemic rock chorus. The lead male vocal is gritty, weary, and heartfelt, moving from a conversational, storyteller tone in the verses to a raw, passionate belt in the chorus.  The Storyteller is weary, frustrated, and reflective in the verses. This frustration builds into a feeling of defiant, anthemic, and raw resilience in the chorus. It's a song of exhausted determination, a plea for understanding in the face of generational economic struggle.  A son explains today to his father.

Against The World is the story of how I survived every person who tried to break me.
This song is my reminder that I stood alone in moments when nobody showed up for me  and still, I rose.
Every quiet room, every empty space, every lie people tried to paint on me… all of it shaped me into someone stronger than they ever expected.

I turned pain into my armor.

And even when people tried to dim my light, I learned to burn brighter 
 for myself, not for them.

The brain child of Everyday Dolores, Mike Ulliman is an Atlanta based producer and multi-instrumentalist who writes, performs, records and mixes all of ED’s music taking a truly indie do-it-yourself approach to all things Everyday Dolores. With “Dolores” having multiple meanings in Spanish and English Ulliman tends to write about the human existence and the everyday pains we face day to day. After Ulliman’s wife tragically passed away in 2014 he quit a successful corporate career to pursue his life long passion of making music. A tribute to his late wife’s favorite flower his latest release “Sunflower” was a 5 year day in and day out labor of love and it truly shows from the opening track “Mind Thieves” which culminates in a blistering no holds barred jam to “Sweet Dreams” which ends the album as a dreamy instrumental properly wrapping up the magnificent journey the listener had unknowingly embarked. My story is the same as probably so many.  I always wanted to write music and share it, to express it, to let others feel it.  Like so many before me - life took over.  Responsibility.  Sure, I could have gone after the things I loved, but I felt the responsibility, so off around the world I went.  That was truly amazing, too.  But always tapping on my shoulder was the desire to write.  So I kept at it, just never doing anything with it.

Jumping forward to the here and now - I’m doing it.  Writing, composing, arranging, and editing.  I hope you enjoy it, give me your thoughts, and share it with others.

Kenny M. Alvarez, known artistically as I.K.P. (The Infamous King of Positivity), is a non-binary rapper-producer of Garifuna descent whose mythic catalog and advocacy are rooted in lived experience—military trauma, homelessness, and substance abuse included. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Full Sail graduate, I.K.P. has released a mythically bold catalog of independent projects like 11:11 | eleven eleven, earned an Independent Music Award nomination, and co-hosted The Herbal Tea Podcast from 2020–2024, bridging queer and pop culture with cannabis advocacy. In addition, they successfully lobbied for millions toward supportive housing in New York. I.K.P. continues to expand queer visibility in hip-hop, crafting legacy through truth, resilience, and radical positivity.






Anthony White is a songwriter and producer from Romania with a background in DJing, guitar performance, and local band work. His music blends personal storytelling with urban textures and emotional depth. Drawing from past studio experience and live performance roots, he now focuses on crafting reflective, bilingual tracks that speak to memory, resilience, and everyday truth.

Nada Samir is a gifted German singer and songwriter hailing from Frankfurt am Main. Born on June 18th, 1996, she has created a unique sound blending elements of pop, indie pop, and R&B soul. Nurturing her passion for music from a young age, she began writing her own songs at the tender age of 13, and by 16, she was sharing her talent by posting cover songs on YouTube. Her music career took off in February 2020, with the release of her debut single "Your Promise." April 2nd, 2021 marked the release of her critically acclaimed debut album, "Heartbroken." And on January 1st, 2023, she has recently dropped her sophomore album "See You Next Life." Her music is an honest reflection of her feelings and experiences, delving into themes of depression and self-discovery.

To celebrate 2000, I took a year off to write songs, novels, plays, and stories - and I've been doing that since. At the end of my first year, I won first prize in the USA Songwriting Contest in the Lyric Category for 'Drum Machines and Beauty Queens.' This led to co-writing songs with many excellent musicians, including those represented in songs posted here. 

More recently, I was one of seven finalists in the Crisis Lyric Category of the 2021 UK Songwriting Contest for 'Lockdown Blues,' and one of nine nominees in the 2021 International Song Awards with 'Didn't the River Know' and 'Blue and Gold.'

For the past two years, I've been collaborating with many talented musicians on Kompoz. I release many of these songs here and compile the best into albums released under Captain Stormfield's Trip on Spotify and other platforms (see links below).
