Dissonance Wrench is a virtual retro band telling the story of six girls and a boy from 1978 to the 90's and beyond. The characters are fictional, but the music is real.

Melbourne lo-fi indie folk and 60s-style pop melodies.  Recorded the old way: slow, close, and not too clean.

I write and record everything at home — acoustic guitar, quiet vocals, little percussive things I find lying around. Most of what’s here are first-pass performances, not “produced” takes. I keep the room noise, the paper rustle, the breath. 

I like when a song sounds like memory. Think dusty cassette with scribbles on it. Or a faded photo.
