Junetober is an artist and producer duo consisting of the fire and ice pair (composer) Mike Kalombo and (singer-songwriter) Cashma. 
Congo born and South Africa raised Mike Kalombo, a self-taught pianist and composer got his early start from church roots and becoming one of the first pioneers of beat-making online where he accumulated an audience and perfected his craft with the arsenal of genres he attributes in his music today. The frequency attuned producer although working with some of the worlds favorites finds his joy in creating the new; Starting Kalombo Records and cultivating his own artists Mike Kalombo discovered Cashma, Georgia born and raised native with sultry, smooth vocals in 2017. Born and raised in NJ.   One of my close friends in my youth was the son of the town most popular guitar teachers,  so I started playing and experimenting with guitars in about 5th grade.  

Back in the late 60’s and 70’s we indulged in many of the popular cultural  experimental things.  The music we listened to was a huge influence on me.  The drugs we took,  hash,  pot,  Mescaline,  LSD, etc.   all played a roll in shaping my musical perceptions.

I started learning of musicians creating incredible albums which never made the charts but was far more interesting to me.   Sure, The Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead,  Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin,  etc.  were all great and I still enjoy listening to,   But I loved bands from The Canterbury music scene,  and less popular Back up Bands supporting tours of the likes of Jimi Hendrix, etc.

I got my hands on Robert Wyatt - Rock Bottom and loved it so much I tried introducing to friends at parties. To me it was and still is one of the best and most interesting albums I’ve ever listened to,  to this date.  But so many folks had problems with it as it was far from the likes of what they heard on the popular NYC  radio stations.  

I already had become musically warped back when a close family friend of my sister stopped by to visit and he handed me a copy of Frank Zappa Freak Out.  I was still in elementary school then.  He said, Here Kid,  give this a listening!   “Who are the brain police?”   

Always seeking off the charts music, or artists who were more about the music than wanting to create 3 or 4 minute songs with the delusional hope of becoming a great rockstar!  I like long jams and music which takes you to other worlds.  Music that is sometimes challenging to listen to as it isn't necessarily melodic or rhythmic, but incorporating odd sounds.  One of my current artists I thoroughly enjoy for this reason is The Nels Cline Singers, whose recordings are so imaginative and deliver that mental movie thing for me.  

 I started listening to late night radio like Allison Steele and Rosco Tanner on WNEW when they would play entire album sides uninterrupted on late night NY radio.   I had bought a nice wooden framed Panasonic radio I placed in a bookshelf next to my bed and always listened every night at low volume.  

I attended several schools after high school.  One was for Electronics and Microprocessor Technology and I also attended IAR Institute of Audio Recording in NYC
.   I also attended Goddard College in Plainfield Vt.  There amongst other things I wrote poetry and began chord banging guitar along with my peculiar writings. 

I began jamming with friends in the NJ/NY area and eventually formed a band in the late 80’s.  We were awful.   Eventually I was lucky to come across Bob Elgar and Tom Dabrowski and Mike Deichsel and we started having some magical moments well worth gigging with.  

RGB & The Red Green Blues Band took form.  We gigged numerous times at a place called “The Ledge”  and then more places hired us.   

I built a small 4- Track DAW studio using Cakewalk and eventually ProTools.  

I compiled quite a few CDs.  
The first was “Wearytown”.    Wearytown Man,  Wearytown Man Revisited.   Songs I composed depicting a hard luck street bum. A friend of a friend put me in contact with a guy named Mike McGraf who had put together a computer system at the early stages when people were unable to afford CD Burners. Mike helped me compile the wave files to create the CD.  Very few, with exception of Industry artists were able to present their music demos on CD.

Next,  “Wild Women, Whisky and Wisemen”
By this time I had acquired my own CD Burner

Then Tom entered Drug Rehab (Committed).  So Bob Mike and I continued getting together and making more recordings,  resulting in “Life in Phase 3”

Next came “Way To Go Bill” a Cd with songs about our fearless peckerhead leader Bill Clinton

Then "Look, Up In The Sky, It's a Bird" was my last real composition with Mike, Bob and Tom. 


In 2003 I moved to the West Coast.  I was lucky for 2 years to have lived on Orcas Island.  After, I briefly moved back east to gather money and more of my possessions. I moved back to California for a little short of year, and then made a daring move to the Oregon Coast.

After living in a few locations on the coast, we last moved to Yachats, in the Dead Center of the Oregon Coast.  There I built a 4 room recording studio where I recorded numerous artists over the last 12 years.
