Rich NxT jumps on fiery remix duties for the tenth release of the Italian label Futura.

LEON‘s Futura imprint continues a prolific streak of form in the digital realms, pushing slick tech-house from the likes of Ben Balance, Josh Baker and Priku establishing the label's identity. Energies are fruity and sleek, whilst tailored towards the bigger room gigs with monstrous basslines and cheeky hooks dying for a huge sound system.

The Italian label founder LEON is a regular at the likes of Marco Carola's MUSIC ON, as well as playing regularly with the likes of Jamie Jones and Lauren Lo Sung in a busy tour schedule. I re recorded a totally different mix to the one planned for this month, Council Work CWR005 lands in shops end of April so had to open the mix with a track off the EP. Growing up with a rich musical heritage it was almost destined that Aaron better known as Aztec would be involved in the music scene one day. An open lover of many different styles it’s Dance Music that’s always been closest to his heart, As a child he’d find himself having countless hours of joy listening to his parents cassette tapes. Being Dance Music lovers themselves he was exposed to everything the 90’s rave scene had to offer and It was these sounds that helped pave the way to what he plays today.

DJ’ing didn’t come around though till his mid teens but collecting music is something he’s always done with him having to spend most of his life dealing with the passing of his father. Music was the way he escaped from the harsh realities life had offered up for him, As he approached the age of 16 it was then when the decision was made to take all his musical knowledge and passion one step further by taking up the art of DJ’ing. In the early days Aaron mastered his mixing skills playing a selection of different genres until mid 2012 when he heard “Hot Natured - Forward Motion” for the first time, It was that moment his arm hairs stood up and he knew House Music was what he wanted to play since that day he’s never looked back. 

Fast forward to the modern day and Aztec has earned the right to support and play on events hosting some of the best House & Techno DJ’s the world has to offer. With sets on global brands Defected & Do Not Sleep you can now see him holding a residency at The Move one of the Midlands premier nights. Aaron is also heavily involved in Freakshow a brand new night which has a target of becoming a major force in his local city of Stoke-on-Trent. His goals for the future will see him being involved in the studio a lot more while also continuing to grow his label.

Born and bred Londoner Tom Frankel is emerging as one of the nu breed of extra talented dance producers breaking out onto the scene. 

Over the last few years he has honed his trade by playing at legendary clubs such as The Egg, where he is a regular feature, plus many gigs at huge London clubs such as Studio 338, The Cause, Lightbox, Fabric in the UK. While also doing many seasons in Ibiza playing at Sankeys, Privilege, Viva, Zoo project, Hypercolour, and underground haven Plan Be.


Tom has played alongside industry greats such as Bushwacka!, Steve Lawler, Subb-An, Dubfire, Nina Kraviz, Julian Perez, Darius Syrossian, Bicep and Move D, but it is now that Tom himself is starting to take the limelight. 

His productions are fresh, forward thinking, and always with the dance floor in mind, creating his own unique fusion of House music where he has releases and remixes on labels such as Burnski's label Constant Sound and iO (Mulen) imprint OLDiViBES and more recently with his and Dayne Harper own imprint Council Work receiving a lot of attention, with support from Ben UFO, Call Super and Loco Dice amongst others, plus no1 chart positions on Beatport and Deejay.de for the first two releases. 

Tom has earned the admiration of his peers and rightly so, he’s a chap with a lively, transfixing personality and his sets are spirited and distinct, marrying a rich medley of current house, garage and minimal music with sounds from a bygone era. His rapid climb to success is attributable to his hard work and endearing character, which combined with his expert musical knowledge make him a serious one to watch in the future.
