“듣는다는 것”, 이 기본적인 기능의 수행을 위해 인간은 감각과 지각, 그리고 인지라는 과정을 거치게 된다. 그 중에서도 “인지”는 지각의 대상을 알아차리는 마음의 작용인데 이것을 “착각”할 경우 감각의 자극을 잘못 인식하게 되는 경우가 있다. 이번 프로젝트, “왜곡의 흐름”은 셰퍼드 음(shpard tone), 리세리듬(risset rhythm), 페이즈 음악(phase music)과 같은 감각의 착각을 일으키는 현상들을 예술적으로 풀어내는 작업이다. 우리는 듣는 것인가? 아니면 듣는다고 믿는 것인가? 이 기묘한 공간에 여러분을 초대한다. 

To perform the human’s basic function "listening" we go through the processes of sensation, perception, and cognition. Especially, "cognition" is the action of the mind to recognize the object of perception, and if it creates an "illusion", it may misrecognize the stimulus of the senses. The title of this project, "Flow of Illusion," is an artistic work to solve sensory illusions such as the Shepard tone, the Risset rhythm, the Phase music. Are you listening? Or do you believe you are listening? I invite you to this mysterious space.

All our music is made using custom software and hand-coded digital synthesis. We create our own algorithmic sequencers; we create our own synthesizers; we turn pixels into sound, and we treat sound and light as the exact same thing.
