If you recognize the artwork, then you know where this track is going.  

BUT...it wasn't originally meant to be about that.  I liked the arpeggiated keyboard sound I'd begun to build this track around...and I wondered if I could "mindcloud" may way into a theme.  I thought the keyboard sound felt very digital--both the actual sound used AND the arpeggio...so, I started bouncing words around in my head...words that perhaps had "digit" as a root.  

(I know.  I'm in the future also.--m.birbiglia)  

Digital was too on the nose (and used before), digitize was closer, but I wasn't satisfied with that.  I kept trying...and eventually landed on "digitated."  

First, I wasn't sure it was a real word.  (It is.) 
Second, I don't think anyone has ever titled a song with that word (As far as I know.) 
Third, I assumed that it meant the same thing as "digitize."  (It doesn't.)

...of course, it doesn't really mean how I use it in this track either, it just means "to have the appearance of fingers, like a chicken's foot, or a leaf."  

But, being eternally a sixteen year old boy (even at my ripe old age), means if you can get away with a cheeky reference...you will.  So I did.  

I wrote some words--and borrowed a phrase from Jimi Hendrix and bent it to my needs.  "Have you ever been digitated?"  

Haven't been all that many songs about this topic, really.  (I'm assuming that you've guessed what the topic is--the song isn't really explicit, but close enough to be embarrassing.)  I'm charting a brave path forward.  (Nope.  Couldn't keep a straight face after typing that.)  

It's a giggle.  It's a laugh.  It's...well, it's both boastful and wistful (and perhaps there's a hidden melancholy here.  But I'll leave that to my therapist to work out.)
