The Torah introduces the Korban Rosh Chodesh—a sin offering “for Hashem”—hinting at the mystery of the diminished moon. Rebbe Nachman reveals that setbacks and spiritual confusion come from this concealment, but they also open the door to return. Through the Korban Rosh Chodesh, Hashem gives every Jew hope and a constant opening to reconnect, no matter how far they have fallen.
