Imperialists fight over Ukrainian resources Garland Nixon and Joti Brar Ep30

The Brooklyn Combine returns with an episode dedicated to exploring several critical topics, with a particular focus on the concept of the "Black Middle Class." The criteria for defining this social category remain somewhat ambiguous; however, this episode examines the underlying complexities, including the intersections of capitalism, class mobility, class suicide, revolution, and the notion of the Talented Tenth, among other related themes. We are the Brooklyn Combine, a non-profit community organization. We work with schools, community organizations, and dedicated city officials to help provide mentorship, critical education, leadership, and social support programs to youth and young adults in low-income and underserved communities.

Last week I (Joti Brar) spoke with @GarlandNixon about the Trump regime’s new ‘pivot to Asia’. 

We discussed why it is that imperialism is NOT CAPABLE of living in peace with its neighbours, and why China remains the number one target of the USA's regime-change machinations.

We talked about how the US imperialists’ attempt to refocus attention and resources on ‘stopping’ (ie, strangling and bringing down) China is affecting Europe and what it means for the proxy war against Russia that Nato has been waging in Ukraine. Can there really be peace in Europe while Nato continues to exist?

And we discussed the need to distance ourselves from the noise and distraction of surface details that make up the news cycle and educate ourselves to see the systemic drives that underpin the policies of all the imperialist governments, which are facing imminent economic catastrophe as a result of the global capitalist system’s worst-ever crisis of overproduction.

Today I (Joti Brar) talked to Garland Nixon about the fundamental difference between charity and solidarity, and why it REALLY matters.

We discussed the latest developments in Burkina Faso, where 700 north Korean commandos have been sent to help guard the revolutionary leadership and the country’s vital infrastructure – and to transfer vital knowledge about how to build a secure anti-imperialist country in the face of incessant assassination and coup plots from the nefarious western regimes, which are desperate to stop Burkina’s sovereigntist project from succeeding, and its dangerous (to their profits) example from spreading (as it is already doing).

We talked about the vital role being played by the DPRK – now the longest-lived socialist country on Earth – in strengthening the anti-imperialist camp. Its understanding of the essential need for solidarity has always been put into practice (see transfer of tunnelling expertise to the middle east for just one key example) and it has NEVER, in 76 years, bowed the knee to the imperialists.

We also touched on what we learned from Victory Day (9 May), some of the lessons to be learned by anti-imperialists from the fall of Syria, and the vital role of workers in the west if we going to finally bring down the imperialist system, which is long past its sell-by date but clinging on using its mountains of cash and creating oceans of blood.

Earlier this week I talked with Garland Nixon about rising discontent in the imperialist heartlands as the economic crisis bites and conditions for workers become ever worse. When inflation is wiping out pay and increasing numbers of people are homeless in the richest countries in the world, is it any wonder that more people are starting to look favourably at the alternative (ie, at socialism)?

We talked about the militarisation of the police as governments prepare to suppress rising dissent and unrest. And we talked about the militarisation of the economy as governments prepare to put the whole of society on a war footing.

We also looked at the role of the new home secretary Shabana Mahmood, a muslim woman whose job will be to front up the ruling class’s pro-zionist, anti-free-speech and anti-immigrant regimes here in Britain. 

We discussed the situation where police in Britain continue to carry out mass arrests of peaceful protestors holding cardboard signs in solidarity with proscribed organisation Palestine Action, even as British armed forces continue to participate directly in the genocide in Gaza.

With all this evidence, it's time we woke up to the fact that neither the capitalist state machinery nor the bourgeois electoral system can be used to solve the very urgent problems we face. 

Instead of praying for justice (from a weighted and inherently unjust system) and nicer leaders (to front up a system of ruthless exploitation) we need to organise ourselves to dismantle this machinery of war, repression and exploitation and build a state of a new type – one where the working class wields power and takes decisions in its own interests.
