No Setmix tento resgatar toda minha experiência vivida na década de 80’s, 90’s e por aí vai, tentando fazer um Setmix diferenciado com versões diferenciadas, criando minha própria sonoridade através da linha do passado, o que me faz ser saudosista, sempre buscando tudo que vivi.
Cercado e acolhido por escutar uma boa música, tenho essa paixão pela música eletrônica, afinal, a música me conecta a outro mundo.
Busco sempre me manter no Contemporâneo, na renovação, mas, não abandono a minha base do passado, sempre querendo mostrar toda experiência, e hoje o setmix é de músicas nacionais, em uma atmosfera crescente, passeando pelo Soul, Funk, Rock, House.

01 Noir Sur Blanc

Samba Resurge,' a vibrant mashup by Aranzi that breathes new life into classic Brazilian rhythms. This track is a soulful journey, weaving together the poignant reflections of Link Do Zap's 'O Samba Morreu' with the spirited call to joy in Claudia's 'Dexia o Morro Cantar.' It then ignites with the playful critique of 'Falador Passa Mal' by Os Originais Do Samba, culminating in the deep, mystical grooves of Antonio Carlos & Jocafi's 'Kabaluere.'

Samba Resurge

This is samba-funk, the 7th track of Capitao Nemo... I posted it almost last, because I didn't find the results matched what I wanted when I wrote it -- there was a much more complex arrangement which we left away in the mix, because there were too many notes -- the arranger did a bad job, and it happened that this arranger was me. Also, I intended to double some of the writen bass lines in the guitar, but because I asked Gilberto to play fretless, and the guitar didn't melt... And I wanted Faria to improvise but Benjamin insisted he wanted to record an electric piano solo -- and I've let him do it, because he is an outstanding player. To complete the whole chalenge, I think I've writen the final bars at the studio, and nobody believed the brass would find the proper tempo... it was crazyness. But then, extraordinary musicians as those guys are, it worked, and If I didn't tell, most listneres wouldn't even suppose it was such a confusion to record it!  Personel are: myself (guitar), Gilberto Silva Pinto (bass), Benjamin Taubkin (keyboards), Luis Claudio Faria (trumpet), Bocato (trombone), and,, as always, André Magalhães on drums. A great team.  Hope you enjoy!

I was born in Brasil, the late 60's, but only in the late 70's I got to absorb the disco era. I was a listener, but always with a keen sense. It was where everything began, a passion for eletronic music, House, Tech House, Techno.
In the 80's, these most intensely lived, and for me one of the best. I absorbed a generation of true musicians, which adds even more knowledge and feeling.
Music is a cycle that goes back and forth. I did not stop in time, I enjoy the pasta and the present. I think I do define myself as an only style. I always say I like music and with the keen sense I have, I listen to the songs and if I believe they sound good to my ears, that's what I will believe. House is the base. However, in my sets there might be a tech house, a techno, or rather any Söns that may please my ears.

DJ / selector from Chile based in New Zealand, stitching together global grooves: funk, boogie, 80s R&B, nu-disco, bossa & MPB, Latin, 90s hip-hop, downtempo, nu-jazz and indie gems.

My mixes, edits and mashups are little movies made of songs – deep cuts rubbing shoulders with classics, always chasing warmth, melody and groove. If you like late-night city lights, Sunday morning coffee, and dancefloors that don’t need to shout to feel good, you’re home.

Em 2012, nasceu a idéia de reunir músicos profissionais e mostrar toda a originalidade dos ritmos e estilos afro-brasileiros (jazz moderno samba, afro-samba, capoeira, bossa-nova, Brasil, funk, frevo, forró, choro, maracatu, o chamamé, etc) . É uma energia incrível, um alto nível de formação da componente musical, artistas de carismo natural que não deixam os espectadores indiferentes. Todos os fãs da música brasileira, a dança, as emoções de verão, liberdade, positividade e bom humor que estão à espera de nossos shows. O repertório é muito grande e você pode ver um Brasil completamente diferente, especialmente a música de capoeira, música das favelas carioca, música do carnaval e samba clássico de bossa nova e funk brasileiro contemporâneo. Você está ouvindo? O som dos tambores de carnaval, samba e risada contagiante! Sentir o toque das praias de areia quente de Copacabana e o sol brilhante e quente em sua pele? Hello,
I'm Sergio Basbaum. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1964, of Jewish leftist parents, I started to play guitar when I was 11. I guess I just could do something resembling music when I was around 13 or something.  I was then living in Rio de Janeiro with my family, and started to get really involved with music, studying theory, harmony and other things. So, when I was 16 I had decided I'd like to be a professional musician. I came back to São Paulo, where I had many friends who were playing, commited to be a good jazz guitarrist, and had several different teachers, in jazz harmony, improvisation, arranging, composition, whatever there was to study. Around 1985 I was doing interesting gigs and was more or less known in the Sao Paulo scene. However, I couldn't make no money! (ok, there was a lot of crazyness going on those days....). So by the early 1990s I decided to go into college to study Cinema, and got a Bachelor's degree. And then, I got a master degree in Comunications and Semiotics, and eventually became a college teacher -- something I had never planned! This was in the same year when I issued my first album, "Capitao Nemo no Forró de Todos os Santos", a work you will find here, and which I still enjoy -- with more than 20 guest musicians helping me give life to compositions and arrangements. But things went well in the university, I made a doctorate also in C&S, and became an interdisciplinar researcher, dealing with amazing questions of art, technology and perception, really fascinating and contemporary stuff. I even made Post-Doc in Philosophy! As years passed, and a lot of water passed under the briddge, I started to play regularly again, and I have issued a second album in 2012 -- an album of songs, with great friends as very special guests. You can listen to those songs here as also. In the last three years or so, I also began to develop audiovisual performances with diferent teams -- you can find some of them in the links in this page. So, I'm happy with music and art again, and I hope music and art lovers may find pleasure in the sounds I make. Best vibes for you, friend!    

 ManaW é um grupo formado por Gabriel Mathias, Diego Garcia e Avati Castro, com a colaboração de uma dezena de amigos que se nomeados, tornam-se especiais de uma forma que não são, porque são todos imprescindíveis no processo musical que continua até o fim, sem exceção, dos músicos aos não-músicos, mas sempre musicais, homem e mulher, criança e até o bichinho tem parte no contrato. Criados na grandiosa Tijuca, filhos de Jorge Ben e da Tropicália, do Clube da Esquina, de Hermeto Pascoal e Arrigo Barnabé, e de tantas outras pérolas nacionais, como também conquistadores de espaços estrangeiros que a Internet deu aos montes, das discografias do clássico do rock, do jazz e funk até as mais recentes produções de Opeth e Pat Metheny, a banda coleciona barulho e memórias que transforma em comunicação.
