Another piece in my series of tributes to prolific shmup developer Toaplan, and their often energetic and lively soundtracks. 

Imagine deep space fields, endless hordes of zako, deadly sniper bullets, and menacing bullet-sponge midbosses standing between you and victory!

This one, as the picture implies, is heavily inspired by Tatsujin. I've had this down as a piano sketch for a while now, so it was remarkably easy and quick to transfer this over to Shiru Otaku's VGMM.

Not completely in the same vein as my Toaplan Tribute series, TOA (https://soundcloud.com/ec2151/toa-tomorrow-toaplan-tribute-ym2612-sn76489a), but certainly a worthy peer and cousin. I had this WIP for years and had consigned it to the "unfinished bin" with a measly few seconds. Then: a Eureka moment! I originally had it twice as fast, and it sounded lame. Fiddling around for fun, I slowed the opening bars down to its current tempo, and the piece, its atmosphere, and the emotions it conveyed, became self-evident. I hope you agree.
