Techno Mix in DC Live from MÄYÄ's Sold Out show at FLASH (Pt II)

For the first time ever, I’ve recorded and made available online what I call “Blunt Force Therapy”—a glimpse of my deeper, darker explorations into techno. This is the sound I’m known for, but until now, I’ve typically only unleashed it at after-hours or underground events.

Recently, some friends at Mind Garden organized a late-night event to push their new sound system to its limits and asked me to let loose. The energy we experienced that night—between the crowd and the music—was both cathartic and inspiring. It felt like a true release for everyone, myself included.

In this re-recording, I’ve captured that same energy, using the exact setlist, as a thank-you to all the friends and fans who keep showing up to dance, release, and have fun. It’s also a return to my techno roots: pounding kicks, rolling sub-bass, acid bleeps, and organic percussive grooves driving forward like a steam engine. Primal vocal shots and deep atmospheric textures remind me why I fell in love with warehouse raves in the first place.

I hope you feel that same raw intensity and collective healing when you listen.

Direkt im Anschluss an die erste Runde, als die Party langsam dunkler wurde und die Bässe schwerer rollten.

Von 134 kurz rauf auf 137 und dann langsam runter auf 130 BPM 
Ein linearer Spannungsbogen, der sich über mehr als 90 Minuten aufbaut und entfaltet.

Musikalisch geht’s hier richtig zur Sache: treibender, hypnotischer Techno mit Acid-Elementen, deepen Synth-Layern und industriellem Druck. Tracks wie "Smile You're On Acid", "Rave Harder Techno Bass" oder "The Sound of Space" geben die Richtung vor: Psychedelisch, progressiv, körperlich.

Sleepy, the Salish Sea’s living legacy of house and techno, brings over three decades of
mastery to the decks. His journey began in the mid 90s when him and his lifelong friend Jay Zoney
(Eternal Drive Recordings) were introduced to a vibrant warehouse collective. Embracing this
global movement, Sleepy quickly made a name for himself with his mesmerizing blend of house
and techno, entrancing audiences with driving percussion and powerful basslines.
As a trailblazer, Sleepy co-founded the legendary 25-year annual Carrington Bay Gathering, a
pivotal event in Vancouver Island's underground electronic music culture. Although the
gatherings have retired, his leadership has been essential in sustaining the dynamic scene,
earning him the title of 'Godfather'.
Sleepy is renowned for mastering live remixing using an advanced 4-deck setup, creating
unique auditory experiences with every performance. He has graced high-profile festivals like
Shambhala, Electric Love, Atmosphere, Cumberland Wild, and the Pachena Bay Music
Festival, as well as intimate venues alongside local legends and international techno icons -
Raiz (Droid Behavior), Gary Beck (Bek Audio), and Chris Liebing (CLR).
