The fifth episode of Tropical Cosmos was recorded live at Sandbar in Huntington Beach. One of the most iconic venues in Main Street Huntington Beach.
For this installment I was in charge of setting the mood of the night, and started with Disco/Funky House for the first 30 minutes and slowly moved up to Afro, Latin Tech and finally Tech House for the second half of the mix.

Sandbar Baby!

Written, recorded, and produced at "Frank's Recording Studio", July 2-17, 2024. 

The music comes from a short piece I had done 3 years ago, that I believe was 30-40 seconds. As I was driving down from NC back to VA on July 1, this piece came up and I came up with most of the lyrics then. I had to re-work the song, extend it, replace the bass (I didn't know what I was doing then; still don't), and add some guitar.

Anyway, when I go down to NC to visit Jenny and her husband Trevor, we go to this little bar called the Sand Bar. Invariably we have a great time. Love the place, and they are good to you for sure there. I'll be back (you've been warned LOL).

I probably could've captured more verses for this had I wanted to as the memories (I've only been 3-4 times and have a bank full of them) are plentiful, including my last trip at the end of June, 2024.

It's memories that keep us going -- and laughing. :)

My crew throws a little bush rave on a river sandbar at the base of Mt. Hood in Oregon. Imagine beach vibes in Pacific Northwest forrest with Mt. Hood towering in the background. Always an amazing weekend of friends and music! This is a live recording of my peak time house set on Friday Night. Great if you're feeling in the mood for high energy dance music. Rave on!

Hooked Up All Night

As a traveling breakfast cereal salesman, Kris Thorson Kellogg felt like something in his life was missing.....Then the groove found him. He would never be the same again.  Since then, he has become the nob turning, button pushing, energy emanating force known as Thorson (aka Krisco). Rocking dance floors in the Pacific Northwest since 2012, Kris Thorson Kellogg has developed his style around Disco, Funk and House music creating the perfect vibes for all occasions.

Mark began DJing at the young age of 17, although very rarely worked in a public setting until joining OneWorld Ltd in late 2009, a local company that provides professional DJs for any occasion. Mark aka DJ Natural as he is known on the scene, enjoys playing all different genres of music, Reggae, Top 40, Disco and House just to name a few. DJ Natural is primarily a Corporate/Wedding DJ, He has now be working in the Industry for over 13yrs with OneWorld Ltd. During this time he has done countless Weddings and Events of all Shapes & Sizes.

Actively trying to make non-EDM listeners fall in love with House music 😉 My mixes mainly consist of Tech House and Melodic House & Techno. The name BLEMYN🍋 may indicate that I am sour, but just give my mixes a listen and you will be pleasantly surprised by how sweet they are 🍬

Frank Wood is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer whose music lives in the space between memory and reflection. Drawing from decades of lived experience, his songs are rooted in classic storytelling but framed with modern production, creating tracks that feel both timeless and deeply personal.
