Scratching is really fun, When I first got into DJing I started out wanting to be a turntablist. Scratching, breaking and graph was a scene that always spoke 2 me. I was lucky enough to be able to learn how to scratch from some true school hommies. My older sister had some friends and on the weekends they would have scratch sessions in the garage. The spot they would be at was passed when I would walk over to my friends house so one day I walked up to the garage and asked to hang out. I was invited in and was glued to watching them scratch and cut with records. I'll never for get this part.. Professor cutfresh looks over at me and say's " Hey, you wana try?. It's not gunna hurt you or anything." Then we had a short laugh and the rest is history...

I've been digging #HardGroove a lot lately, This re-brand of Funky Techno is for the new age is a breath of fresh air. Back in the day when I first started record shopping for UK Hard House, I came across an Alex Calver record that sampled The Blair Witch Project. That shit was sooo fucking hard, Non the less, It was my introduction to the Techno/Funky Techno genre & I liked it very very much yet I never went past owning that and one other record that was techno on the aggressive and funky side.

That was back in 2006, Fast forward to now not only have my skills as a DJ majorly progressed, My ability to shop and cop music has gotten better as well. Recently hearing #hardgroove being played out at a party ( it was only 1 track to lmaooo ) reminded me that this music is something I like and that I should explore it and start collecting it.

Soo here we are, I have just under 2 hrs of some of the best tracks I could find and compiled them into a mix 4 y'all. It's on the longer side & it's chalked fulla hard drums and funky grooves, Hopefully I will be able to share this music with the dance floor 🚬
