Satyagraha: Mahatma Gandhi's path to Interfaith Harmony

Join our guest editor & bijak Laura Mendoza Sandoval in speaking to Dr Vandana Shiva, Dr Preeti Virkar and Bhavana about Navdanya, a precious biodiversity & conservation farm in the Doon Valley, Uttarakhand, India. Called by the chants of peasant women from Chakrata, and recording to the sounds of birds, mammals and insects at the farm, we go through the story of how this movement school came to be since 1989. It grew into the centre for sustainable living Bija Vydiapeeth – also known as the Earth University – inspired by the freedom movement lead by Gandhi, as well as the Chipko movement. A long listen full of wisdom on ways to orient our actions to nourish the movement landscapes where we belong. Tune into this rich landscape of sounds – the crackle of fire, the rustle of cloth, the bellowing of the living, the voices that tell and sing with their feet firmly on the earth.
