Le ministère prophétique, au sens où l'entend le mouvement charismatique aujourd'hui, est un ministère qui se sert de prophéties et de « nouvelles » révélations de Dieu pour être plus juste d’ailleurs j’aimerais dire comme le dit la Bible « retourner aux bornes anciennes établies par Dieu »et non nouvelles révélations qui viennent contredire la Bible et même je dirais qui viennent contredire ce que Jésus a dit lui-même et ceci engendrera une bonne conséquence pour guider l'Église vers la maturité. Il est parfois décrit comme un ministère quintuple par ceux qui croient que les ministères d'apôtre et de prophète ont été restaurés dans l'Église moderne.
