Calm seas, but also stormy ones, that were once traversed by ancient triremes and today by fishing boats and all kinds of vessels. People who found their safe haven in Samos participate in this episode. Ship carpenters who carve Black Pine, clay and jewelry artisans, but also visitors who were enchanted by the beauties of the island and now enjoy life near heavenly shores talk in this podcast.

"Nazare" includes 9 stereo files (WAV, 96 kHz, 24 bit) of total length: 33m52s.
Recorded with Zoom H6 with internal mid-side capsule during three "big waves" days of January 2020.
There is general loud ocean roar with strong wind, large waves breaking at the cliff rocks and much calmer morning recordings on the beach with long breaking waves and sea birds. Perfect as ambience for seaside scenes.

Avenue Red were grateful to ourselves for having made the impeccable choice to rock up in Margate on the extreme southeast edge of England to witness a phenomenal event back in April. Masterclass sets from all who played there, with this live set from Reedale Rise (real name Simon Keat) being one of the highlights to shine on this wonderful soundsystem in a visually stunning venue. It was ace to also unexpectedly bump into some key agents of organised UK underworld deepness, including Miles Atmospheric of Atmospheric Existence Recordings, Bovill of cult label Meanwhile and many others! Quality > quantity. Keep the faith and enjoy the ride, the tide and the vibes inside! 🌊🌊🌊

"This set was recorded directly from my live performance at Faith In Strangers, Margate earlier this year for Ornate Music and 50arc. The venue is fantastic with a beautifully tuned sound system, views over the sea, and lovely hospitable staff. The event was a chance for me to catch up with people I'd not seen since before the pandemic and put some faces to online names, including Avenue Red's very own Alec.

My live set has changed a lot over the years and the current evolution is all unreleased house and techno tracks. The music I play live has moved in this direction simply because it's more relevant to the dancefloor and more fun to perform to a crowd than some of my deeper electro tracks. Gear-wise, I've added a Roland TR8S drum machine to Ableton, which has allowed me more opportunity to improvise and react spontaneously. Listening back, I'm happy with how the set sounds and hope it resonates with people. "Seaside" is a laid-back lofi hip hop track with chill vibes. Gentle guitar melodies and soothing beats paint a picture of sun-drenched afternoons and gentle ocean breezes. The mellow rhythms and sun-kissed melodies are ideal for unwinding and letting go of life's worries. Whether you're lounging on the sand or daydreaming in a hammock, it offers a perfect escape into a world of relaxed bliss.

Charlotte Petts has been intrigued by this place ever since she and her dog took refuge there from the wintery seafront and had a steaming hot pot of tea and a tunnocks tea cake. With its metal grills over the windows and a heavy door to strain open, it almost always looks closed, except for a little neon red 'Open' sign glowing in the gloom.  Inside, there were mainly older people, sitting alone.  It's part of an old lido complex, with a bandstand built in the 1920's jutting out into the sea, almost like a mini pier. The tablecloths are chequered, you can get breakfast for a fiver and despite sitting separately, everyone seemed to know each other.  One lady leaned over and chatted to her about her dog.  It was just... friendly.
She wanted to spend more time there, see what is was like in the warmer months and spend more time with the people that go there and the people that run it.  And so she did.  And she took her recorder with her.

Established in summer 2013 in Newcastle, England, Avenue Red is all about high quality house & techno music with unique character and depth. We aim to push DJs and artists based solely upon the quality of their output, the refinement of their taste and their dedication to the music. Commercially-driven reputation, inflated egos, "big names" and artificially-manufactured hype are of no interest to us. We know true quality shines in its own light.

Chiq has always been a huge music-lover and his interest in electronic music started very early in his life because his older brother was a dj too... 
Hearing his brother spinnin' triggered the need for him to play his own sets... and so he did!

At the age of 14 he bought his first records and he saved all his money for a pair of decks and a mixer. After playing some small local gigs and bars, he got picked-up by the successful Dreamworx parties in Heist-op-den-Berg and soon clubs saw great potential in him.

He became a resident dj at Club Delite in Halen and made the Gorgeous room to a big hit thanks to his mixture of uplifting house, golden classics with an eclectic twist. When the club had to close due to issues with the owner of the building, he could display his skills at the infamous Club Illusion in Lier where he got into the groove. 

Today he's mixing @ Club Carat VDC and he is booked for a lot different parties. 

Also with his alter-ego AmbiHans he is booked a lot for private-parties where he tends to mix urban tracks and dance-releases with some disco and rock-music, allround so to say!   

in 2020 he got together with some friends and they started "We Love Music", a collective that throws parties in the region of Antwerp with only one goal: 
To just have fun playing music you like yourself!

He's booked a lot on cool festivals and events like Tomorrowland, Tentaçao @ La Rocca, This is 90's,  Razzia, Gold, Summerbeatz, BEACHLAND, City Parade, Candybar, BBC, ... 

He has shared the decks with superstar dj's such as: Eric Prydz, Martin Solveig,
Hardwell, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, , Yves V and many more.
