1. Moussa Thiobely Ba is part of a big griot family and is a young man of 25 years old. His 1 year old baby hangs on his back and a cigarette hangs from his mouth as he improvises on his electric guitar in front of a small modest room that he have built in the complex of all the griot houses.

4. We are shielding from the midday sun in a room that is used as a Taylor’s workshop in the village while waiting for the lunch to be ready. Moussa starts to sing.

6. In between the rainy days, we take out some rugs and some instruments to the green outside the village. Fouta is normally a burn out desert, but rain has brought in all this vegetation. All cousins take turns to play their songs while I record in front of them. This one is by Moussa Thiobely Ba.
7. Samba is a young griot, a cousin of Mousssa. He makes a living playing his electric guitar and singing praisals when people hire him to come over. He always records his performance on his phone and after sends it to me via Whatsapp, so that when I am back in London, a little piece of Fouta Toro is always with me.
8. We are shielding from the midday sun in a room that is used as a Taylors workshop in the village while waiting for the lunch to be ready. Moussa starts to sing a cover of a song I am still yet to find. He begins softly, just as something to do during a calm moment but it turns out to be powerful as everyone joins it a bit. I came to the village to meet Samba & Alessane, Moussa was their cousin, but after this performance I realised that Moussa was an incredible singer too.
9. Baye Fall called Lamp sings a praise for Mame Diarra, Sufi Saint Amadou Bamba’s mother. Lamp is a kind and generous man with an impressive set of dreadlocks who let us put up our tents in his family house yard in a small town of Casamance.
10. Samba sings while his father, a famous griot in the area plays Houddu, the traditional instrument made of carved wood & animal skin and three strings. We just had breakfast and I was getting ready to leave the village slightly nostalgic and saddened to leave. The song brightens the mood.
11. A first call to prayer at dawn in Maata-Moulaana, a semi-autonomous village following Sufi Islamic order. 
12. Laye sings a devotional Baye Fall song by the fire in the evening inside my friend Amdy’s workshop and a place where Baye Falls of the village gather.

In a powerful act of recognition, the Spanish city of A Coruña has officially honored Ibrahima Diack and Magatte N'Diaye, two undocumented Senegalese migrants who risked everything to save Samuel Luiz, a gay man brutally attacked by a homophobic mob in July 2021.

While others stood by, these two men intervened, attempting to stop the assault that ultimately took Luiz’s life. Their actions were pure altruism, as noted by Mayor Inés Rey, who declared them "sons of the city." Despite the risk of arrest or deportation due to their undocumented status, they acted without hesitation, later stating, "We are not heroes; we did what we had to do."

Their bravery not only attempted to save Luiz but also played a crucial role in justice being served—four men were convicted, receiving sentences between 10 and 24 years. The court confirmed the attack was homophobic.

Though the tragedy remains heartbreaking, A Coruña’s recognition of these two men is a reminder that courage and kindness still shine through, even in the darkest moments.

**Titouan L.C.S is a multi-talented artist, producer, and curator from La Rochelle, France.**  
Active on the French scene since 2015, he has a strong taste for travel and a passion for blending live performance with electronic sets.  

In the winter of 2023, Titouan embarked on a musical exile to Abidjan, where he created what would become his first EP, *Bloom Coco* — a travel diary infused with West African techno and trance influences.  

After organizing events between Paris and La Rochelle, bringing together various collectives around the fusion of live and electronic music, he launched the **“Boire la Tasse”** festival in 2022, supported by the Café Noir production collective.  

Both in the studio and on stage, Titouan’s project revolves around an annual journey to a new destination (Côte d’Ivoire, Mexico…), where he creates an on-site **sonic travel diary**. This material becomes the foundation for his next release, which he then takes on tour the following year.  

The idea is to collaborate with local artists (musicians, visual artists, event organizers) to build authentic cultural bridges — and to invite these collaborators to share their art in France. Artists such as **Tora San Traoré** and **Seny D** have already been part of this adventure.  

It’s in this spirit that the **“Grand Déplacement”** parties were created — celebrating a less Eurocentric, more diverse and inclusive musical landscape.
