@marvin-and-guy (@correspondant, @hivern_disc, @discohalal) - their project was born under the shadow of a palm tree while a flamingo listened to tropical music, way back in 2011. Now in their spare time the boys have been honing their talents as remixers, with many labels singling them out for their signature swaggering sound. Meanwhile in the DJ booth the Marvin and Guy have been taking their talents global, their ability to spin through from disco to techno setting tongues to talking and hips to shaking. It's a perfect time that they are on the show - very soon duo will be releasing another EP, this time on Correspondant, with 3 heavy hitters which are definitely going to become new hits in no time. Don't expect the usual vibes from them on this mix for Serial Experiments though, as this contains more reggae flavored inspirations and true experiments inside rather than straight dance music.

Bird of Paradise returns to Join Our Club and he’s brought his Pulse Generator with him, the lead track is a melodic, moody, mid tempo beast, a track that very much sums up our sound at JOC.  On the remix we welcome Kieran Holden who turns in a chirpy acidic take while retaining the mood of the original track, a fantastic debut on the label.

Next up is Alone Again as with the EP’s title track the melodies are there, something of a feature in BoPs work, a lush throbbing bass line and shuffling percussion drive the track.  Label bosses People Get Real remix Alone Again their version breaks up the drums and take that bass line even deeper.

In March, Her Majesty’s Ship showcased their A&R skills with a great new signing in the form of Paprika Kinski, a pop singer sure to make it to stardom. Her debut EP was released in March and now has one track released from it as a single, complete with an on point remix from Vox Low.

Already winning fans and press with shows in Mexico, Kinski is an Art School graduate who has lived in New York and Belgium and has her own brand of leather products, House of Vice. As such she has outfitted the likes of Grimes and FKA Twigs, but music is her true love. A Master of many instruments and synths, she marries sweet and sour vocals with big bass and did so to perfection on her last outing, Steady Lover. This new EP finds one cut from it as well as a new remix getting a special release.
‘Kids of Your Crime’ is an upbeat tune with menace in the gritty bass and dirty guitar licks, and an infectious sense of groove in the busy drums. Catchy melodies and icy percussion adds to the breezy nature of the track and the vocals you will be singing along to in no time. It’s a real pop gem.
