Food is such an integral part of Jewish life. Every simcha celebration, every lifecycle event, every Jewish holiday, every Shabbat, is punctuated with a lavish feast.

But while the menu for holiday and Shabbat meals typically consists of meat or chicken, on Shavuot we traditionally eat a dairy meal—followed, by some, by a second meat meal.

Why the change? Why the dairy?

In our special Shavuot edition of Kabbalah Café we delve deep inside the spiritual and psychological reasons for this custom, based on the Kabbalistic symbolism of meat and milk. We explore the spiritual energies that drive these foods, and discover the mystical meaning behind the prohibition of mixing meat and milk. Plus, we learn why angels and humans enjoy very different menus.

The compilation album series HeadsBass has raised over 15k for mental health and last years Floodlight album raised 22k in disaster aid. Her mix this month will exclusively feature music from the newest album - Flashlight: DNB Aid for Los Angeles.
