Podivuhodně tvarovaná hora v něm ožívá a stává se milovanou osobou, která poskytuje útočiště celému společenství živáčků, rostlin a kamení. Idylické představy „asi nejhorší pastýřky na světě“ se brzy rozbíjejí o drsnou skutečnost místního života, jehož běžnou součástí jsou samota i smrt. Hlavní otázkou intimní a mnohdy sebeironické výpovědi je, jak vyznat lásku někomu – a ještě ke všemu místu! –, koho si nechceme přivlastňovat.
