On 15th Oct 2023, I played a set at the Workinonit MF DOOM tribute at The Hip Hop Chip Shop, Manchester alongside the almighty OMA, who absolutely smashed along with UK MCs, Batfunk & Pique Roscoe. A huge thanks to all the Workinonit crew, Ozzie & the team at The Hip Hop Chip Shop for such an amazing event & for the honour of being asked to perform a DOOM set too!

It’s actually the first time I’ve played out using my own gear which made things much easier too, on trusty Technics 1210s, Pioneer DJMS-7, Serato & Phase, which is always bulletproof & makes things so much easier!  I forgot to record the set on the day, so decided to put out the unabridged version I planned.  On the day, I played about half of this after OMA. The mix is jam packed with all things DOOM from samples, remixes, covers, production & even an unreleased joint with the ever-elusive Mr Fantastic!

As I posted my Workinonit (An MF DOOM Tribute) on here last week, I thought I'd follow it up with my previous one for the crew.

Like Rakim once said "it's been a long time". After a long hiatus, I'm finally back doing what I love and putting out mixtapes. This one is really special to me!

Workinonit is a monthly event, masterminded by beatmakers, Kuartz & Lone Apostrophe, alongside Mecca:83 & Bob Bell. Hosted at The Hip Hop Chip Shop (M4 6BF), the event is free for everyone vibe out to music producers, beatsmiths & even a live band! You also have artists, retro games (big up Shaun!), freestyle cyphers, spoken word MCs and other creative individuals! No egos, just a likeminded community.

This official mixtape celebrates Workinonit's first year, 2022, with 2 tracks from each artist who performed. As ever I throw in a bit of seasoning in there with some cuts, juggles & remixes. For the first time I've also got in the events spirit & incorporated my SP-404 Mk.2 alongside the new Stems feature in Serato!

I've decided that, like the other Workinonit mixes, I'd put out an extended version of the live set that I dropped at the MF DOOM tribute at Manchester's Workinonit in October 2024. The mix is jam packed with all things DOOM from samples, remixes, covers, production & more. I wanted to get this out right after the set but I’ve had a crazy few weeks here and have only just got time to record it!!

Along with stright up DOOM tracks, this mix also features appearances from Your Old Droog, Jay Electronica, Ghostface Killah, Kurious, Mach-Hommy, Bishop Nehru, Kool Keith, Tuxedo, Aesop Rock, Homeboy Sandman, Prince Po, C-Rayz Walz, Vast Aire, Czarface, Moka Only, Count Bass D, Tommy Gunn, Wale Oyejide, KRS-One, Atmosphere and many more.

As well as those featurwed above, this mix dips into tracks from Madlib, Oh No, Hell Razah, Flying Lotus, Abstract Orchestra, Dabrye, Jneiro Jarel, Danger Mouse, Lice, Kuartz, Criseal, Chris Craft, Tom Caruana, 3rd Bass, Cannibal Ox, BADBADNOTGOOD, Czarface, Masta Ace, Wilma Archer, DJ Matman, Non Phixion to name a few.
