About this journey:
I like greek mythology. One of my favourite greek Gods is Apollo. Apollo is the Olympian God of light, music and poetry. 
He loved to play the lyre and sing. 
Apollon’s music showed the intricate dance of the cosmos. And i trying to do the same.

Living and breathing music since 1999, I've journeyed through numerous stages and styles. As a DJ, I’ve spun and created beats across genres like Hardstyle, Electro House, Dutch House, Big Room, Trap, and Chill Step.

Today, I’ve slowed down to 100 BPM, crafting trippy downtempo tracks infused with a touch of nostalgia.

I offer you the last piece of myself—my music.

Otorongo is the Quechua word for Jaguar, Curinahuel is the same in Mapudungu.

Otorongo is a music selector originally from Chile, currently based in Meanjin (Brisbane). His sets are meticulously curated to take audiences on a journey. Some times it might be a pleasant walk through mountain rainforest, tropical floodplains, or wherever your imagination feels the most comfortable. Other times a deep dive into the realm of the spirits, where light and darkness get confounded. 

Otorongo's sets are percussive, with exotic instruments and vocals, usually filled with nature samples, and always driven by ancient rhythms, carefully blended to ensure you feel free to dance. 

Expect from ethnic downtempo and folktronica to eclectic Afrofuturism, passing through deep tech.

He is co-founder and curator of ISU TAKI (@isu-taki), a collective that organises parties to promote emerging beats from Abya Yala (aka Latin America) and beyond.
