If you were at all tech-aware in the early 2000s, you knew (and maybe used) a BlackBerry. The then-ubiquitous device broke the code by turning a phone into a text/email device, becoming the first smart phone, which unintentionally paved the way for its demise. BLACKBERRY dramatizes its high-speed rise and fall and director/actor/co-writer Matt Johnson joins us for a chat. 

"Yogi" Berra was one of baseball's greats, earning ten World Series rings, three MVP awards and many All-Star Game appearances. But, he may be best-known for simply being himself and for his philosophical "Yogi-isms." IT AIN'T OVER tells the legendary catcher's story, and we get even more with director Sean Mullin and executive producer (and Yogi's granddaughter) Lindsay Berra. 

The documentary FOR NO GOOD REASON takes an intimate look at iconic artist Ralph Steadman, whose dangerous and intense illustrations have visually defined the works of Pink Floyd (THE WALL) and Hunter S. “Smartphone” is a solo project by producer One Ton: from lyrics to music to the video, he did everything himself. And this time he also sang himself, fully aware that he is not really a singer: “I see myself here in the tradition of Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry. Normally, he produced vocal artists, but sometimes he sang himself. Perry knew, that the creative idea was sometimes more important than the beauty of a perfect vocal — as you can hear in ‘Roast Fish & Cornbread’.”

The result from One Ton: contemporary trash reggae with a heavy bassline and a song idea that immediately sticks in your head. A summer burner!
