Wil je een beter seksleven, gooi dan het kapitalisme omver. Kristen Ghodsee laat in haar boek ‘Why Women Have Better Sex Under Socialism’ zien dat daar meer waarheid in zit dan je op het eerste gezicht zou denken. 

Het stereotype beeld van het leven achter het IJzeren Gordijn is dat van een voortslepende Orwelliaanse nachtmerrie waar een grijze massa de hele dag in de rij staat voor een sneetje brood. Maar uit allerlei onderzoeken en cijfers blijkt dat in ieder geval het seksleven van vrouwen beter was in Oost-Europa dan in West-Europa tijdens de Koude Oorlog. Hoe kan dat? In deze aflevering vinden we uit welk effect economisch beleid heeft op onze sociale relaties en dus ook ons seksleven.

Right Moments will be in Dutch from now on. Deze ep verkent mijn onderzoek naar muziek uit de Surinaamse socialistische beweging. Ik duik in het archief en probeer met online radio de boodschap te amplifyen voor een breder publiek.
