Vocals extracted from MP3 via vocalremover.org. Arranged & time-stretched in Logic Pro X using Flex Time & plenty of hand editing since the original was not in perfect time. 

50 years of music technology evolution between this version and the original. I replaced all the original instrumentation with synchronised synthesizers... 

Will dig in further and and likely do an extended 6 or 7 min version. This one has the Chorus synth bass part to fatten & give syncopated momentum to the Chorus & fixed most of the many vocal timing anomalies since the original was loose (No MIDI or SMPTE sync track!).

Midnight on the Bay is a reimagining of a classic Neil Young song, but in the style of Synthwave/Retrowave.
When creating the song, I wanted to be as faithful as I could be to the original song, but at the same time, expand on what was already there. I lovingly learnt Still's guitar parts, Neil's Harmonica solos and vocal line. This also maybe the first synthwave/retrowave song to feature a harmonica solo.
So sit back and relax and Please enjoy this tune.

Another take on a new song called "Drop D Blues". This song is actually a reimagining of a song I wrote in 2018. It is in Open D tuning (Drop D), and played on capo 2. I was experimenting with a new recording approach. I was in close proximity to a single Neumann TLM mic, aimed so it picked up more vocal than guitar. I copied the original track and pasted it into two separate tracks, panned left and right and with different production on each. Makes it sound richer to my ear.

I have an ongoing collaboration since 2018 with my friend Michael who lives in both Poland and LA. In the summer of 2025, Michael had a series of sessions with professional musician Avi on both guitar and vocals. I did production work and added bass. Beautiful stuff. This is a version of "helplessly Hoping" by Crosby Stills Nash.
