This episode of the Pandemic Suite is scored for a string orchestra, it expresses my gratitude about the beauty of the world.

Set sail on a high-seas adventure with this thrilling piece for string orchestra! Inspired by the bold, swashbuckling spirit of classic pirate tales, this work captures the excitement of daring escapes, crashing waves, and boundless exploration. With soaring melodies and driving rhythms, it immerses young musicians in an epic journey, making for an exhilarating performance experience.

About the Piece:
When I was asked to compose this piece for string orchestra, I thought back to my own experience as a middle school musician. I remembered the thrill of playing music that felt larger than life—pieces that transported me to new worlds and made me feel like I was part of something exciting. At the time, the Pirates of the Caribbean movies were incredibly popular, and their bold, swashbuckling scores left a lasting impression on me. I would have loved to play something adventurous, something that sparked the imagination.

With that in mind, I pictured grand adventures on the high seas—crashing waves, daring escapes, and the exhilaration of the open ocean. I wanted to capture that same sense of excitement and motion in this piece, giving young musicians the chance to experience the thrill of an epic journey through music, just as I would have wanted at their age.

Oeuvre d'inspiration religieuse, l'ambiance est sereine, paisible, optimiste, lumineuse. Le titre s'inspire du "In paradisum" qui est une antienne religieuse notamment chantée dans un Requiem comme dans celui de Gabriel Fauré par exemple.

Elegy For My Mother (2025)

A short piece for string orchestra in memory of my mother, who passed away in April 2024 aged 83.

When I was about 3, before I was old enough to have piano lessons, my mother would sit me on her knee while she played J. S. Bach's Minuet in G (BWV Anh. 114 - now attributed to Christian Petzold). She would pause allowing me to play to repeated 'G's each time. It is my earliest memory of playing the piano. 

It would be lovely for this to have a live performance.

I want to weave a gentle, emotional orchestral language, that speaks about live and touches the heart. I try to capture these ephemeral, timeless, and moving moments, transcribing them with devotion to sound and recording them in the sound studio.
