Toyama Kasumi - Sukiyaki / 上を向いて歩こう (AI Cover) | BanG Dream!

Kurune was born south of Kagoshima, Japan to unsuspecting parents who were both farmers. Seemingly imbued with the fiery power of Sakurajima, the nearby volcano, she struggles to make friends due to her dangerous abilities. But she is gentle at heart. On this walk, she finds a fire sprite and chases it through the wood, almost setting the grass on fire! But she eventually catches up to it, and because of her efforts, makes a new friend.

(This piece was entirely inspired by the cover picture, the above story my own, and features live orchestra)

Don't Set Anything On Fire Kurune! | A Friendly Chase -- Original Orchestral Score

This is my jazz solo piano cover of Hisaishi's "A Huge Tree in the Tsukamori Forest" from My Neighbor Totoro.

When I was around 5, a Blu-ray of My Neighbor Totoro was gifted to my family. It was the first Studio Ghibli movie I'd ever watched, and I adored it. It still holds a special place in my heart. As a dumb 5-year-old, I never appreciated Joe Hisaishi's gorgeous score, but as I've gotten older, I've grown to really appreciate the music he made for Studio Ghibli and especially this movie.

I arranged this piece earlier this year, but I specifically recorded this take as an audition to be in my school's winter concert, which combines curricular programs like choir and band with extracurriculars and student solos/ensembles. The results haven't come out yet, but no matter if I get accepted or not, I'm proud of this take. I mess up a few times, sure, but I like how it came out overall.
