Following Dani Siciliano’s welcome return to the spotlight with her self-titled LP, Circus Company is proud to present a collection of remixes from artists close to the label and Dani herself, framing her intimate songs in a new, dancefloor-ready context.

David Okumu is best known as the frontman for The Invisible, but when he’s not leading the band he can be found lending his vocal, instrumental and production talents to a host of projects. Here he lends a deft touch to the album’s closer “Sincerely”, with a sound that combines modern electronica production with emotive synth lines and a light touch of ‘80s funk.

Sturm & Drang is a new studio venture from dOP’s own Damien Vandesande and Fabien Leseure, specially formed for this remix of “Gone Are Those Days”. Working around a tight house groove, the duo lay down warm analogue synth tones underneath Dani’s vocals and build up a sizzling club track that maintains the spirit of the original.

British outfit Party Nails, affiliated to The 2 Bears and God Colony amongst other projects, take to “Dragons” with a sense of urgency that turns the track into a taut, peak time workout loaded with tension. Dani’s impassioned delivery sits atop the insistent drums and weighty bass as a foil to the hard edges of the production, making for an emotive result that harkens back to house classics.

Circus Company’s prolific soul maverick Dave Aju steps up to round the record out with a typically flamboyant version of “Gone Are Those Days” that reflects his own exploration of tougher machine-powered rhythms of late. There’s a primal techno spirit in the component parts of his version as it unfurls, with the organic lilt of Dani’s singing playing counterpoint in the midst of the maelstrom. Being a Dave Aju production, it packs just as much unconventional flair into the mix as it does party functionality.

Contrary to common belief Sascha Ries aka Sasch BBC is not a branch of british broadcasting, but nevertheless his name also stands for splendid entertainment. He delivers delicious music from Germany’s Rhein-Main-Area. Deep-seated in there are the roots of the current Loft resident, which shaped the mentality of his sound since the beginning.

In young years, Sascha was electrified by the precursors of today’s electronic scene like Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb. The desire for spinning records himself and encouraging a crowd to dance grew and was rewarded with his first residency in the age of 16 (1993) – in a time when pegging styles was not a common practice, when Techno was simply Techno and even House and Happy Breakbeats didn’t get in line. Around that time Sascha utilized an Amiga-computer to make his first steps in musical production. And for the people’s pleasure, a lot of tapes were mixed these days. Additional versatility was also proven by him in discjockey activities beyond his electronic paths. He put his mixing skills to work for the hip hop band “Noname Produkt” and released 2 CDs in collaboration wth them. But in spite of this detours his heart was always heavily beating in 4/4-steps – House and Techno. 

So in 2003 he came along the residency in the Loft Club Ludwigshafen, which remains true until today. And his impulsive sets were decisive for direct support of Sven Väth, Loco Dice, Ricardo Villalobos, Magda, Marco Carola, Richi Hawtin and many other top-class DJs. Sascha became iconic in the widely acclaimed Loft Club. Meanwhile in 2003, the event label “Envy My Music” offered him to take an additional residency in Frankfurt’s innovative Monza Club. He easily decided to do so. And by now he conquered almost all electronic clubs around the Rhein-Main-Area. On top of this his career has been elevated by playing sets at Time Warp 07 to 16! “Music has to be fun” isn’t only his often repeated mantra, it’s also a quality receptible in his sets. Heavily affected by the locally specific minimalistic Deephouse sound, he spreads his music up to groovy and funky House, Techhouse, Indie Dance and 80’s Synth Pop – but always with a certain element of high temper. Dark and blut just simply never was his thang. His music was released on such labels as 8 Bit, Great Stuff, Whatiplay, Disco Halal, Bar 25, Plastic City, Brise, Noir, Sleazy Deep, Sinope, Cimelde and Viva Music, Dear Deer....

Circus Company is an independent French label, founded in 2000 in Paris.

Nach seinem Karrierestart im März 2009 und der darauffolgenden Residency der Eventreihe „BOOM BOOM ROOM“ im SOHO Mannheim, stand er schon neben Regionalen Größen wie Sasch BBC, Sven Hartmüller, Seebase, Stefano Libelle, Steffen Baumann und Felix Neumann. Sein Sound blieb nicht unbemerkt und so beschallte er noch einige weitere Events in der Region. Neben dem Koi , Plaza, Ludwiq und dem Prive kamen bei der Sex And The City Partyreihe noch Clubs wie das Plaza Island, das 8Grad in Heidelberg und die Sperber Lounge in Heilbronn hinzu. Zudem trieb er sein Unwesen in der Comodo Bar in Mainz und ist momentan Resident im neu eröffneten Magic Club in Mannheim. Nebenbei bespielt er bei seiner eigenen Eventreihe „2Night“ einmal pro Woche die Ivy Bar, dem Szene Warm-Up in Mannheim. Mit einer Mischung aus 90er Underground House und der Neuinterpretation dieses frunky-freshen Sounds setzte er auch schon einige Akzente bei der City Of Sounds und wurde auch als Support von Laserkraft 3D gebucht. Treu nach dem Motto „Put On Your Dancingshoes And Lets’s Groove tonight!!“ wird jede Party zu einem einzigartigen Event.
