Right off the top, I want to assure you that though I am an old, I know that "the kids" aren't saying "Sus" any more (does anyone still play Among Us?  I hope so, that was a fun game!)  

...and neither is this track, though it may sound like it.  I automated some buffer glitching on the title of this track, "resuscitation"...but no matter how I tweaked the buffer, I only got "resusci" out of it...and most of the time it was just "sus."  

Still works for me, so it stayed in.  

Back home at Phantom Laboratories West after a brief excursion to Portland, Oregon.  I feel refreshed, re-energized, and re-ady to take on all of the tasks I've been putting off for far too long.  So, the theme of resuscitation has some personal meaning to me.  

And being in a relationship that shouldn't have died...but did...and then just watching the dead relationship for too long without anyone trying to save it--yeah, I feel that one, too.  

But, again, being an old, any talk about "relationships" for me is inherently nostalgic.  (My wife died five years ago and other than a couple of false starts that didn't even get to 'relationship stage', I'm no closer to finding a new person--and that assumes that there is a new person to find, which I don't.  It feels like this is going to be this way...(I was going to write more, but I realized I'd said what I wanted to say without any more words.)  

So, when I think about relationships, I think about synthpop...about Yaz(oo), The Assembly, Minor Detail, Depeche Mode, Blancmange, Erasure, China Crisis, and other bands from the 80s you parents might still have in their record collections, assuming they didn't dump all that physical media so they didn't have to move it.  

And I also think about my many regrets--how I often chose to play the "romantic martyr" role whenever things went sour, rather than the "problem solver" that probably could have done more and understood what agency I had...then.  

I kind of wish I had a song like this--which is more synthwave than synth-pop this time, usually Interbay is the other way around--back when I could have been a better boyfriend to women who deserved a better boyfriend.  

And, the best part is, if none of this applies to you--you can STILl enjoy this latest Interbay track!  It's got a good beat, you can dance to it, you should give it a 96!  (Oh, my references are even older than I am.  Yikes.)  This one isn't as "in your face" as many Interbay songs can be...but there IS structure, there are specific parts for the roles those parts play in the arrangement.  

And, there's more syn-drums here than in the opening credits of EastEnders (a UK tv show that I know a surprising amount about, despite never seeing a single episode of it.)  

As always, all I can ask is that you give "Resuscitation" a listen...maybe give it a like, repost it, share it, leave a comment on it, add it to a playlist...it would be great to get more people aware of Interbay and these daily drops.
