Stable members of the Australian electronic scene, GMJ & Matter are a combo that spreads pure love for the craft. Known for their otherworldly progressive sound, the duo, who have their own successful solo careers, began their collaboration back in May 2016 and have created moments of dance floor genius ever since.

Opening the EP, the tile track 'Everything Dissolves' we are quickly immersed in the liquid smooth sound that has won them the respect of fans across the globe. Snappy hats and a rubbery bassline hypnotise before the subtle melodics and spoken word vocals draw you deeper still. Early morning music dripping in soulfulness.

Next up, 'Naxxar' continues apace. From a funky shaker-driven percussive framework, deep bass and icy pads hang as subtle middle-eastern sonics add direction. Growning towards the main break, the track takes on a new energy, powering into the final half with renewed vigour. Finally, 'Nomadica' shows the duo's dubbier tech side. Aimed more at the pre-peak time, the groove is harder; dirtier and ready to dance all night long. Sonics flutter by like angels from above. This is contemporary progressive house at its very best. Miss this at your peril.

Subtract Music is a record label, event production and an artist collective based in Los Angeles, California. Founded in 2011, it has quickly become a leading force in the Los Angeles underground electronic music scene.

The label was founded by Anton Tumas, who with a small group of friends, shared a passion for the underground electronic music, and desired to create a platform for up-and-coming artists to showcase their talent.
