was always a sort of bucket list dream of mine to do a racing game soundtrack entirely with super mario kart instruments. alas, convincing racing game developers to let me do this proved to not really be feasible. so i just did this song for fun instead.

この曲は、ぜひイヤホンで聴くことをおすすめします。ステレオ感、エコー、リバーブ風の効果をふんだんに盛り込んでいるからです。それと正直に言うと、Savaged Regimeさんのパッチも使わせてもらいました。
原曲（SFC版）は、リバーブやサラウンド効果を最大限に活用していて、スーパーファミコンの性能をフルに引き出したサウンドになっていました。それをFM音源でどう再現するか――持っている手札でなんとか形にするしかないわけで、それが今回の試みです。
スクエア波の音色には軽くビブラートと音量変化を加え、できるだけストリングスっぽく仕上げています。スネアドラムの音は、懐かしさもあって『シャイニング・フォースII』のものを使用。ハープも同作の音をベースに、ちょっとしたSSG-EGの細工でエコー感を加えています。そして今回もFMティンパニが大活躍です。
原曲に負けない出来になったと思っていますが、最終的な判断はあなたにお任せします。

スーファミの曲をいくつかFMリミックスしようといじっていたんですが、「せっかくだしサンプルを抽出してFurnaceで試してみようかな」と思ったのがきっかけでした。そこから芋づる式に色々やってしまい、その結果が今あなたが聴いているこれです。
罪がないとは言いません。でも正直、このローファイなストリングスの音……最高なんですよ。はい、言っちゃいました。

しばらくはFM音源に戻ることにしました。やっぱりスーファミのサンプル方式よりも面白いと思うんですよね。でも、スーファミ用にやった実験もまだいくつかあるので、それも投稿するつもりです。
この曲については、特に語ることはあまりないかな……。サンプルを16の倍数でループさせるのは本当に面倒くさいし、チューニングもなかなかの難題。でもそれ以外は、スーファミの音源システムって、正直あまり複雑な部分が見つからないんですよ。いやあ残念ですね、YM2612みたいに隠しモードや未公開機能があると思ってたのに！
まあ音自体は悪くないですけどね……ちょっと毛布をテレビにかけたみたいにこもった感じはありますが。ええ、自分がセガ派だってわかりますよね？　まあいいや、スーファミも好きなんですよ。

Musha Aleste - For The Love Of... (SPC700 Remix) SNES

この曲は、これまで試してきたほぼすべての音源チップでリミックスを作ってきたので、もちろんスーファミ版もやってみました。
今回は、こもった音の中でも目立つように、より鋭いベースのサンプルを選びました。それからピアノはエレクトリックではなくアコースティックにしています。さらに、フルートの代わりにストリングスを使い、スクエア波の代わりにはコーラス音声を採用しました。
スーファミの音源の持つ特徴をうまく活かせたアレンジになったと思います。
