There's some really groovy (afrobeat style) drumming by Mark Fletcher, some nice saucy upright bass, some Kora (a harp like instrument from West Africa), some Guzheng (a Chinese zither), and some flute.

And some chillwave vocals I "misapplied" for this instrumental, analog song: No synths this time, only the fabulous tonewheel organ!

Thought about adding more instruments but decided to go with this reduced, minimalistic setup: it's all drum and bass! Well, no "drum & bass" (like the track I'm currently working on), but... well, you get it.

Thanks for listening to my music. I'm in the music scene for more than 50 years now, played thousands of gigs and released 15 albums. Never made it to the big stage, always a musicians musician, just a nicer word for having no success. Now retiring off stage and doing what I do with new productions. Never been into mainstream music, love people like Leonard Cohen or Tom Waits, outsiders who defined an own musicology. Matt Wright started out his career when he supported Son Of Dork (James Bourne from Busted’s spin-off band) at legendary London venue, Shepherd’s Bush Empire in 2007. From there he toured parts of the UK and made appearances on television. 
Since then, he’s redefined his sound to a more pop/dance vibe and in recent times, Matt has seen great success racking up over 200,000 views across just 2 videos on TikTok for his songs, OMT and Take Me Somewhere.

INFO: Middle aged music maker (and recreational drummer) from the middle of Franconian nowhere arranging music for open minded music lovers who (like me) don't want to listen to the same (kind of) music all/every day - way too boring (or even annoying).

So you'll find all kinds of stuff here, from Space Jazz to Hip Hop, from Synthpop to Triphop, from Folk to Doom, from here to there, from then to now, and many things in between - except for "pure" EDM / Techno / Trance, not my cup of tea. :P 

Many tracks tend towards "alternative pop". Well, if you don't like a song/genre - just skip it! I won't mind...  ;)

P.S.: Before you ask: I (almost) never start with the vocals, asking myself: what strange things could I make with those?

Instead I start making strange music THEN look for some vocal parts that might fit. You'd be surprised how often you get a "match" the moment you throw those in the mix. Well, sometimes it needs a little tweaking... ;)
